I’m Disappointed in Myself ! I can’t believe it took me five years to come to this restaurant. I’m not gonna lie. I’m super high maintenance for a man. I mean super high maintenance. Ask my wife and I do love good food good restaurants, nice cars, beautiful things I want everything to be perfect all the time. Ya high maintenance, but rare gems are hard to find. To be this good still after 5 years of being open says a lot about your restaurant. When we walked through the door the room was dimly lit with perfect lighting. We were greeted by a lovely host and taken to our tall boy table made of solid live edge table. I have to admit I did not like the table because they sat us by the kitchen,and the door which was open. My bride took the seat with her back to the kitchen. I had to look into the kitchen which I do not like. I would have usually complain about this but something happened, I started to watch how perfect the kitchen was set up. I truly enjoyed watching this staff cook meal after meal with perfection. Everything thing they were doing was spot on from the way they were cooking to cleanliness of the kitchen to the prep cook who was totally in the zone. Yes don’t worry I was paying attention to my bride. For a guy who has ADHD I was into the restaurant and my date more than checking my phone every 30 seconds that says a lot. Our drinks absolutely perfect. Try the blueberry mojito or the perfect old fashioned. Starters we had saganaki it was perfect light tasting full of flavour. For dinner we had the ribeye sandwich with the freshest softest bun of all time. Even the fries tasted perfect with no heavy taste. I had the ribeye steak again it was perfect. My meal was so good I scraped the plate clean. For dessert we had homemade by the mother of the owner cheese cake. So lite tasting we also had the avocado chocolate mousse made in house again perfect. To the bill. The bill was 205.00 with tax I tipped 30% I NEVER DO THAT ! I dislike tipping on tax, why do we do that ? Our meal was worth it. For 1 starter 2 mains 2 desserts 4 drinks the bill was very reasonable. The meal was timed out perfectly almost 1.5 hrs from beginning to end. The restrooms were perfect and clean and setup perfectly, even the garbage can was in the place it supposed to be. You would be surprised at how many restaurants Do Not put the garbage can exactly where it’s supposed to be by law. I could continue writing about this restaurant, but I guess I’m a little long-winded on this one. The only thing I would change in this restaurant as I would knock down the wall between the bar in the kitchen, so you could watch the kitchen staff work their magic. I cannot say enough about this kitchen staff. I once owned a live venue and I had a great staff. Great staff is hard to find, a great staff that is dedicated to attention to detail is even harder. What a Kitchen Staff. !! Fume is still a force to be reckoned with and they have a new fan and I can’t wait to go back. Thank you to our server who rocked and to the owner who gave me a couple of minutes and to the kitchen staff who really rocked our meal. I’m still taking about how great this meal was today. Happy Mother’s Day to all and go have a great Meal at this stand alone 5 plus star restaurant ✊

Went for my bday last night at 5:45. When we were seated the server Charlotte I think her name was (long straight red hair, tattoos, thin lips.), asked if it was a special occasion, I said my bday (even though I had already told them that when I made the reservation almost a week in advance) didn't receive our food until about 7:00!, then when I went to the washroom at 7:20 I saw our server and asked for another drink, she told me that there would be no time for another drink because apparently we were required to leave our table at 7:30 for the next reservation, when I got back to my table I told my family, who was still in the middle of eating our dinner, that I was told that we have to be out of there by 7:30, the mood was immediately spoiled and they felt extremely rushed to finish there meals, we also didn't have enough time to even order dessert. I felt our whole dinner experience was ruined at this time, as well as my bday vibe. When we were paying our server was just standing over my mom making her feel obligated and uncomfortable when it came to tipping. I then nicely asked our server why she asked if it was a special occasion when she seated us if they don't even do anything, she extremely rudely said "excuse me, I don't understand the question.." I repeated myself and then she replied with " idk incase we have to put a candle in something." She didn't say happy bday, thank u or anything. I have been looking forward to going there for dinner since 2022 when I went for the first time where my experience was amazing, I've been raving about fume since then had been looking forward to going back ever since then, until my experience last night. I don't think I would plan to go back. We paid alot for our meal and didn't even get a chance to enjoy it. Extremely disappointed and dissatisfied. Bill was almost $400.00 and there was only 5 drinks

Last night we FINALLY made it to Fume Restobar over on Morell St. as we were celebrating a birthday. We have wanted to go for awhile but things just hadn't worked out. Until now. So the restaurant itself is quaint and warm having about 20 tables in it (give or take). It has an industrial style and flair to the design of the restaurant. There is definitely something special here because the place was FULL. Lots of people and energy. The service was excellent. Everyone there worked together like a well oiled machine. Every table was tended to and every patron had everything they need. Shout out to our server Ashley who was so knowledgeable about the menu remembering and reciting everything on it like a pro. It was impressive to watch. She was welcoming, friendly, professional and attentive. We had a wonderful experience because of her efforts! The food. Omg the food. The smell in the restaurant I can not put into words. The smell of all of the wonderful food just permeated throughout. Every dish that came out of that kitchen looked incredible from scallops to burgers to fish and chips. When we ordered our meal I got the steak sandwich and fries and the boy got fish and chips. My steak sandwich was soft, flavorful and delicious. It also had angus striploin steak, sauteed peppers and onions, swiss cheese, bbq sauce and garlic aioli which all goes together so perfectly. And the fries are hand cut, perfectly cooked, and perfectly seasoned. They were unreal. The boy got fish and chips which was made from mahi mahi. It was crispy, flavorful and delicious. The mahi mahi was definitely different if you are used to ordering cod or haddock. It was a bit meatier with a different consistency. All in all what a little gem we just found. If you haven't been I highly suggest that you go because if you know, you know.

Last night we FINALLY made it to Fume Restobar over on Morell St. as we were celebrating a birthday. We have wanted to go for awhile but things just hadn't worked out. Until now. What was supposed to be a nice anniversary dinner turned into a disaster! I called to see if I could put some money on my credit card toward the couple's anniversary dinner and was able to do so and was told that they would be sure to let the couple know who it was from. When the couple arrived at the restaurant, they ordered their drinks and then their meal. Other people came in and ordered their meals and were served. 45 minutes later, the couple were told that there was a computer issue and their ordered was not placed with the kitchen. When they did receive their meals, the steak was charcoal black on the outside and cold on the inside. The other meal order was incorrect for a part of it and had to be reordered. They informed the waitress that one person was severely allergic to eggs and yet they were served aoli! The person with the allergy also checked the menu on the website before going, to choose a meal that would be appropriate. When they got to the restaurant, none on the items on the website menu were offered on the menu at the restaurant. After all of this, they were compensated by not having to pay for their appetizer. They paid their bill and left. They were never informed, nor was the prepaid amount ever taken off of their dinner bill. The couple was quite surprised to learn of this after they got home which is approximately 40 minutes from the restaurant. When they called back to inquire about the situation, they were told that they would have to come back to the restaurant the next day, so they drove back the next day and instead of putting a return amount on the couple's credit card for the prepaid amount, they were given the amount in cash because the person at the restaurant told them that they didn't know how to do a return on the card. What was supposed to be a lovely anniversary experience, was anything but. This was the first and last time at this restaurant for at least one person in the couple and for my husband and myself, the couple that was trying to surprise them with a nice gift, we will not be dining there either. I can also say that they will tell everyone that they know about...

Due to lockdown we had to experience Fume via curbside. Even though the experience of indoor dining wasn't had it was still a great experience. An independent business able to pivot quickly and adapt to the curbside so quickly and effectively is amazing and great for us! Ordering over the phone was so easy and the last was super nice with a bit of charm. Not the average, I hate my job, waitress. It was refreshing right from the start. Time to pick up was an option, but we were in no rush so left it open to whenever the restaurant could accommodate. Think it was 45 mins? Either way, it wasnt long at all.

We arrived about 10 mins early, but called in to let them know we were there (but early). Someone came out right away to accept payment and let us know it was close to being done. Food came out just before our 6pm pick up time and the service in the parking lot was better then most places here in Brantford. Kudos for a great curbside experience 😀

Now dinner.... Wow! The food was still hot when we got home. We put it all out for kids, husband and I. Shared a little of this and took a little of that. It was so good we all wanted everyone to try bits of everything. We had ribs, tenderloin, burger, brie, scallops, truffle fries. Every single bite was fantastic! Hats off to the chef as that was terrific.

We eat out a lot. I am also celiac. These two things are hard to accommodate. The same ol' restaurants over and over. The same food over and over. Fume has so many gluten free options, I was shocked when I saw their menu. And it's different!!!! I could go beyond a salad, or burger with gross bread for the bun. I could get appetizers! And it all tasted amazing.

Sorry this review is rather long, if you've made it this far.. thanks! I just want to stress this place is worth every penny and if right now you're looking for something delicious and a local place to support, order here.

I cannot wait for this lockdown to end so we can date night the heck out of this place.
