Shanghai Restaurant — Restaurant in Brantford

My friends and I ordered food from Shanghai Restaurant yesterday. We were satisfied with the quality of the food. However, the execution and delivery was totally bungled. Instead of an employee of the restaurant showing up to deliver our food a third party vendor showed up to which we had no idea. At the time of the order the restaurant told us they took Amex. They did not tell us then that there was $6 charge to use Amex. I presume they would have known this but it is uncertain. Had the restaurant informed us that they were sending a third party vendor and a $6 surcharge to use Amex, we would have declined and picked up the order. In hindsight, we should have called the restaurant at the delivery point but by the time we realized what had happened and tried to visit the restaurant they were closed. Also, the receipt received from the third party vendor had no connection to the restaurant and no itemized list. Not impressed and feel a bit swindled. I ordered chicken wings, it was my first time there. The truth is my expectations were not high, I picked the first thing off the wing menu, being honest I know it starts with a J, as I said before my expectations were not high. The staff told me I made a good choice, they were very friendly. I didn't order ahead, so I waited for 10 minutes as promised. During this time, I observed persons picking up orders and leaving. I got home and took my first bite I was pleasantly surprised the flavors were on point perfectly seasoned. People! the wings were not greasy! Crunchy outside yummy on the inside, no after taste? ..we travel a distance to go there.. and it was well worth the drive.. The gentleman that run this restaurant are polite, kind and have turned it into a gourmet Chinese restaurant. We ordered from there last night and the food was absolutely amazing The best I ever had. They have definitely stepped up their game but they did come in at a bad time with covid, but now the sweetest sour meatballs have big pieces of meat in it.
