If there was a zero or negative star star option, I would have used that instead.
Issues were the following:
Our server offered us water, but then took forever to come back to take drink orders.
Server did not know what types of alcohol they had (barrail, top shelf).
When I asked for flat water, the server asked if she could also bring sparkling water. She didn't mention that they were $6.50 per bottle.
The food took forever to be served. Like 40 minutes. And it wasn't the main dinner rush. We arrived at 8pm.
The penne toscana was ordered by 3 people of our table of 7. We were lucky to get 2 tiny pieces of chicken, a couple of sundried tomatoes (literally, a couple), and approximately 4 olives. Two of us got 1 artichoke.
The steak and veal dishes ($44 apiece) were served without any sides. No veg, no starch. Finally, they brought about 10 penne on separate dishes (assuming it was the leftover penne we had because it was the same sauce). One was supposed to be marinara.
Nobody came to see if everything was okay with our meal.
Server offered to bring us more bread; she never came back.
One of us ordered a second drink, which never came.
The man (I can only assume he was the maître d') didn't know how to serve and clear plates. He actually reached over us to take things away.
After our table had been cleared and we were sitting around obviously wanting to leave, our server decided to prepare other tables rather than bring our bills.
Upon asking for our bills, (notice I used the plural) she returned with a single bill.
When asked to split the bill, the server complained that it would be complicated.
For what we paid, this experience was an insult to fine dining. They should remove that tagline from their...
Read moreAllegro restaurant is situated in the heart of down town Bolton. An area with rich history, and preserved buildings. It is warm , comfortable , and filled with character. It is my favorite hangout place especially for dinner.
As you step your foot into the restaurant, you are welcomed by the magnificent simple setting and warm welcome by staff, Tony Viola and his lovely daughter. Every table gives you a clear view of chef Tony Viola working his talent in the kitchen. Those, with no prior reservation, are welcomed to wait in the lounge.
The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouth-watering starters followed by the main course. Simple and delicious items on menu, each cooked just like the old Italian way.
All the cuisines were fresh and tasty. Chef Tony gives a home-made feeling using the best quality ingredients. The restaurant also offers various types of drinks, they serve great wines in the region. The drinks are pricey but surely worth trying.
The service was of very high quality. Tony, the owner is full of warmth and thoughtful of his guests. He is always around ready to hear all types of experiences from you and the rest of the guests.
Because of the brilliant atmosphere and delicious food service, I highly recommend going to Allegro Fine Dine Restaurant. I have been coming here for years and there is no other place I would rather eat.
I celebrated my 60th Birthday with my family at your restaurant, with you Tony and your lovely daughter . I thank you for the delicious food and hospitality.
Thank you and best wishes, Joseph and Gina,...
Read moreSimply put, awful experience! This is a restaurant that my guests and I will never return to. I couldn't possibly have anything nice to say about this restaurant. Three of my guests received their meals 40 minutes after everyone else had already been served and as a result they had to eat alone. Two of those meals were pizza, which should be quick. The owner Tony, was unwilling to be understanding in any way when we mentioned this to him, worst owner I have ever met. If you want customers to return to your restaurant and you make an honest mistake with the orders that causes some of them to be late then you should apologize to them. Instead, Tony began to yell at me stating that he was being mistreated simply because I had mentioned that three of our meals were 40 minutes late. On top of all of this, we were charged a $25 cake cutting fee for a cake that we brought, cut, and served ourselves!!! I am in disbelief that a restaurant owner would yell at customers the way that he did and cares so little about his business. When I told him he would not be in business for very long if he continues to treat customers this way, his response was "good, I rather lock the doors". Complete jerk and do not recommend Allegro restaurant in...
