A&W Canada — Restaurant in Calgary

I went here last week for breakfast at 8.45am. The restaurant was empty and saw 3 middle aged East Indian workers in the kitchen. My daughter ordered a burger and I ordered classic eggs sunny side up with coffee and a sausage and egger to take home for my other daughter. For my coffee, I asked for extra cream on the side and the lady said we don't give cream on the side. . like really. That was a surprise to me. We took a seat and 10 minutes later 2 couples walked in. Our breakfast came 15 minutes later. My daughters burger bun was cold, the cheese was just slapped onto the patty. In my order the egg yolks were 3/4 cooked. So I carried the tray to the lady and reminded her what I ordered. She argued with me saying it's easy over like as though I was eating eggs the first time. I told her easy over yolks should be runny and not dried. She argued with me and after the argument she offered another plate. I waited there and watched the 2 ladies moving so sloppily. I got fedup and went to my table. So, second time, my eggs took 10 more minutes making me lose appetite. It was a total of 25 minutes before I could eat bkfast. As I finished my eating, I realized she never gave me my sausage n egger so went to the counter. To my suprise the lady said "do you want it now".. like what the hell?? when am I supposed to take my burger that I paid for. she should have given my order together and not kept it sitting in the kitchen. If I had forgotten, I would have had to come back. She could not understand English and they were talking loudly in their language. Pathetic service..will never go back. I have been patronizing A&W for more than a decade. I just hope the franchise looks into these reviews and also should ensure that those who takes their franchise not only serve good food but serve...

This is the absolute worst a&w I have ever been to in my life. If you are in the douglasdale/quarry park area, do yourself a favor and keep driving to the one on 130th Ave. I do not tend to leave negative reviews, but if anywhere deserves it, it is this place. My main problem with this particular place was the fact that they take advantage of people who don't check their order before they drive away. I bought the steak and egg sandwiches to bring home to my family last week, and there was no steak on all 4 sandwiches. I assumed this was a one off as everyone has bad days. Next week, same order, and again no steak on the sandwiches, and it wasn't forgotten because there was a very thin layer of the brown sauce that the meat is covered in on each sandwich as shown in the picture. I can only assume that this is the managers decision in an attempt to save a few dollars, because the people making the food do not benefit from this in any way. The second thing that bothered me about this a&w was the poor customer service. The staff have very poor communication skills, and very poor attitudes and manners. I never let the people making my food know that I am disappointed or upset as I know they have the ability to mess with my food, so it wasn't any action of mine that caused them to purposely make the food the way they did. It was just very poor management, which clearly trickled down to the employees behavior as well. I've never had a problem with the a&w on 130th and just off deerfoot, they have great staff who take pride in their work, so from now on thats where I will be taking my business and I suggest anyone reading this to do the same. It’s evident that they take pride in their work and genuinely care about providing exceptional service to every customer.
