Let me tell you, our first visit to Kan Sushi & Grill was pure magic! From the warm welcome at the door to the satisfied sigh, the entire experience was incredible as we left. The atmosphere is like a breath of fresh air – simple, yet elegantly modern, with a welcoming vibe. You can cozy up inside or soak up the sunshine on their lovely patio.
The staff at Kan Sushi & Grill are absolute rockstars! They're attentive without being overbearing, making sure your drinks are always full and your sushi satisfaction is off the charts. We dove headfirst into their menu, and let me tell you, it was a flavour explosion! Although they have a huge variety of sushi, there are many other options to choose from that are not sushi.
We tried the Chicken Teriyaki that had us swooning. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the teriyaki sauce was a sticky, sweet symphony. The Chicken and Beef Yaki Udon were steaming bowls of pure comfort food, with thick noodles, tender meat, and a savory sauce that had us slurping with glee. The Chicken Karaage was a golden-fried revelation – crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside.
The Spicy Tuna Tempura Roll. Perfectly tempura-fried tuna, still cool and fresh in the center, wrapped in warm, sticky rice and seaweed. Every bite was a delightful dance of textures and flavours, with a touch of heat that left us wanting more (don't worry, we'll be back for that!).
The portions at Kan Sushi & Grill are seriously generous, and the prices? Absurdly reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get. We spent a blissful hour savouring every bite, and honestly, the time flew by. We left feeling happy, satisfied, and incredibly grateful that this gem exists in our community.
This isn't just a restaurant, folks, it's a destination! We urge everyone from the surrounding areas and further away, to make the trip to Kan Sushi & Grill. You won't be disappointed. The amazing atmosphere and the food that will have your taste buds doing a happy dance are worth every second.
We've already added Kan Sushi & Grill to our "must-visit-often-and-bring-everyone-we-know" list. And let's be honest, with food this good, it won't be long before our cravings become unbearable and we're back for another round of culinary bliss!...
Read moreI visited Khan Sushi & Grill today and overall, the experience was a mix of highlights and areas for improvement. I used to come to this location back when it was an Italian restaurant, so it was interesting to return and try something new.
The food was quite good. The ramen, sushi, sashimi, and even the taco octopus (though a bit tough) all showed potential. The flavors were enjoyable and the presentation was clean.
However, the cleanliness and service left me concerned. The restaurant was mostly empty when we arrived, but the service felt slightly rushed and not very intuitive. For example, we weren’t simply offered water—we were asked how many wanted it, which felt unnecessary. Plates were also cleared too quickly, while we were still using condiments like ginger and wasabi.
My biggest concern is cleanliness. The floor, although dark and able to disguise dirt, seemed thick with buildup. The undersides of tables looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. But the most jarring part was the washroom—easily the smelliest I’ve encountered in Calgary. It gave me the impression that cleaning is done only at a surface level.
If I could offer one strong encouragement to the owners: please invest in a deep clean of the entire restaurant, especially the floors and restrooms. Perhaps even bring in a contractor for plumbing assessment to help eliminate the persistent odor.
Despite this, I do wish the team at Khan all the best. You have a great location, solid food, and a concept that could truly thrive with a little more care in the details. This review isn’t meant to discourage, but to encourage improvement—because you have everything you need to be excellent.

Read moreHidden Gem in the neighbourhood. Everyday I drive pass this fairly new Sushi place just opened where it used to be a pasta place and oddly they were never open.
We wanted a nice meal and vibe on a damp rainy day. We went to Leopold’s Tavern at Sage Valley and were disappointed how small the place was and their service was poor. They just told us they have 2 seats at the bar from far and didn’t even care to come speak to us until few minutes later and didn’t seem interested even looking for a sitting option.
We turned around and happened to be passing my neighbourhood again and the sushi place was making an impression. We were interested trying it out.
We were welcomed by warm greetings. Had lovely green tea to start with. I never realized this place has a beautiful view as it is at tye corner of the street overlooking COP and greens. Outside they have strings of Japanese lantern, raindrops on the windows made it all magical. We were there very late, around 8;00 pm, very close to their closing time at 9:00. But we didn’t feel rushed to order and eat. It was definitely quite with just the 2 of us only being there but that was probably the perfect thing we were craving for inside. We’ve ordered their small sushi boat which came with 2 bowls of miso soup to start with and varieties of delicious sushi rolls and sashimis. It only cost $75 for the boat. We were happy that we didn’t order the medium. The portion was generous and the hungry monsters we were, even struggled to finish..but we did!
Please go check out this close to home great place if you’re in Royal Oak/ Rocky Ridge/Tuscany area. You would not be disappointed. And try this place even if you’re not in the...
