Food - good taste, right level of spicy, authentic north Indian restaurant style.
Menu- wide variety, options available for everyone.
What we tried - chilli paneer : on point Malai kofta - slightly unusual, felt like the gravy was meant for methi malai paneer. It didn’t have any flavours of elaichi, hence it didn’t have the hint of slight sweetness on the palette. Also, a bit garlicky for malai kofta. Garlic Naan - good amount of garlic flavours, crispy, soft, thin. They’re good.
Ambience - small, nice restaurant. Granite/quartz table top gives it a rich look and feel. Would be better if they had a nice music playing in the background.
Staff and service - only one person, but I think it’s enough for a 4 table restaurant. This person manages, serves, takes to-go orders over the phone and also manages skip/Uber orders. A lot for one man when he had 3 tables full. I would suggest to have one server and one manager, especially on weekends and holidays.
*didn’t see any high chairs for kids.
*I would also suggest that they keep kids water glasses ( I’ve seen them in many other restaurants), it’s difficult for a kid to handle glass glasses apart from that their little colourful plastic glasses attract them more.
ladies washroom didn’t have diaper changing station.
My verdict - this was my first time here, liked the food, but the dealbreaker for me is that it’s lacking the basic components for it to be a family restaurant.
You can do better. Restaurants are not only to have your meal but to...
Read moreI’ve ordered from Zaika on Skip the Dishes countless number of times, and the food never disappoints. My personal favourite is the butter-chicken and buttered naan. It is always fresh, piping hot and absolutely delicious!
Two weeks ago I finally went in in person after a long walk in the summer heat with my baby in a stroller. While they don’t have automatic door opening buttons or much space, the customer service and clean atmosphere surpassed all expectations.
The young gentleman at the front was an absolute delight. Not only he was professional and great at his job, but was incredibly friendly and kind.
Despite me just ordering take out. The young man brought out a glass of cold water and a small ice cream for my son. And just his friendliness and great smile made my day.
I saw him helping the next person after me and he was just amazing to everyone.
And of course as usual the food came out absolutely perfect! It was still fresh and hot by the time I walked back home.
Love, love, love this place. Favourite Indian cousine by far. And the prices are good especially for the quality of food.
Ps. While you get mild heat when ordering on the app, you can call in and order spicier if you prefer, something I learned on...
Read moreWorst Service I've ever experienced!! My small order for Dahl was placed as to go. An hour and a half later, no phone call to pick it up!! Sitting in my car waiting for a call. The restaurant was NOT busy at all!!! I was told twice, just 10 more minutes. I finally came to my senses after I realized it was an hour and a half since placing the order!! I drove home. Then I got a call that it was ready. The blame was put on a new hire that didn't place the order correctly. The manager was there working along with many other staff. If it's that difficult to punch in a to go order, then perhaps the manager should teach this concept or do it himself!! I complained about this horrible service to the manager, who only offered a quick "I'm sorry"... Lame!! Never ever dinning in this incompetent restaurant and definitely never ordering anything to go!! The only thing that should go is incompetent lying staff. Why did the new guy keep saying 10 more minutes when he clearly knew he didn't put this order through?!? I'll be getting the word out to anyone to stay clear of...
