The Sugar Cube — Restaurant in Calgary

NOT A RETAIL LOCATION. Okay, had friends come to town from 1000 km away up north and the child of the family excitedly looked up this shop and we drove ALLLLL the way down to the deep south. Okay, the adults should have looked better at the description this wasn't retails, but when we arrived, clearly the place was full of candy -- it smelled delicious, and they had SOMETHING on the shelves, sure looking like it was for sale. We drove all the way south and were just turned away with no ceremony. You could have sold us whatever was on the shelf instead of just not even letting us in. Or give us a taste of whatever was smelling so amazing for the effort of making the drive. Our bad for not doubting the kids, I guess, or reading the Google instead of going by the photos, but geez, as a company, it would have been much kinder of you to at least talked to us a little instead of just basically slamming the door in our face again (maybe the woman who opened the door was busy in the kitchen, but... again, this company needs a better response than what we got, you...

I can’t say enough good things about the Sugar Cube! We ordered one of their cotton candy cakes for our daughter’s 19th birthday and it was a huge hit with the whole family. We had a big family gathering to celebrate and the cake became an impromptu party game. As each layer in the rainbow of cotton candy colours had its own delicious flavour, people would close their eyes and try to guess the flavour without seeing the colour. It was fun for a huge range of ages at the party. It was also REALLY easy to cut, serve and insert a candle - and it stayed fresh for days after the event. It was absolutely fantastic and looked just like the photo on their website. Thanks so much Sugar Cube!!!

P.S. I also highly recommend ordering the Sugar Cube’s Christmas advent calendar. I was a grateful recipient of one last year and I have been craving it ever since! I buy advent calendars for my entire family every Christmas. I always look for new ideas as they are all adults and that is the type of calendar I seek. This year I found Sugar Cube's advent calendar in my annual search. I did the pre-order as I didn't want to lose out. Alyssa was amazing in helping me as I had to order the calendar for delivery to me in Canada and then I was going to be sending it to the USA to my daughter and her boyfriend. The calendar was perfect as it was 'one built for sharing'. They loved it! They have had fun every day tasting, guessing and discovering! What a perfect gift that goes for days and is enjoyable!
