When i eat at a restaurant, one thing that concerns me is the authenticity of the food. Is the price justified? Is that fried fish made from scratch or was it a breaded frozen filet? When a packet of tartar sauce was served with the meal, that made us question the authenticity of everything. Was the salad dressing homemade as claimed by the menu, or factory made and poured from a plastic jug? Was the walnut apple strawberry salad pre-packaged? If so why should I pay $11 for that? It started to feel like I had been Sysco’d once again.

Fish and chips were ok, packaged tartar sauce a big question mark. Hamburger had a weird salty processed cheese slice instead of mild mozarella, one obscure bacon strip, and lots of sweet ketchup (just a warning for those who like their dinner savory).

Not...

It is one of the nicest restaurants in the area. We had dinner and breakfast the next day, and the food didn't disappoint. Their mussels are delicious, and frankly, every seafood item that we've ordered was delicious. The music is traditional and pleasant to listen to, not loud or distracting.

The staff is very pleasant and courteous. They took the time to give us some pointers about the trails and some interesting spots to visit. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are decent for the price. And the fact that it's almost the only place open on weekdays helps its rating. Highly recommended.

NOTE: don't be startled by the sound of a chicken in the restaurant every once in a while, that's just the door (or maybe, just maybe, they're torturing chickens in the kitchen, can't...

This little family-owned place off the Cabot Trail should be a DESTINATION for every traveler! We had the seafood chowder with a delicious house made biscuit and the hot lobster roll with hand cut fries - just wow! Not only was it the best chowder, best hot lobster roll and best fries of our ENTIRE LIFE (and no, I’m not being dramatic here), the portions were beyond generous, the service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was relaxing. We only wish we could come back again and order the mussels and the fish sandwich which looked yummy too! Hopefully there will be a next time…

My advice: plan your day/drive around lunch or dinner at Morrison’s. You won’t be...

Great spot! Great gluten free options for anyone who needs it and it looks like a restaurant inside which is very different from a lot of other places in the area. I had the smash burger with the gluten free bun. The coleslaw was surprisingly quite tasty and I’m not usually a fan of it. Lovely staff and they have Coke products which was not the norm for a lot places in the area. It’s canned soda but still, they were kind enough to give us some lemons. My friend enjoyed her chicken club. Update: we came back! I tried their pan fried fish and it was delicious. The beans were also great, molasses and sugar so it’s pretty sweet.
