A&W Canada — Restaurant in Carlyle

Saddened by how SOME of the staff treats customers. The customer service there is not it! Not sure if it’s a personal issue but I do see there is another review on here with a similar experience (mind you this isn’t the only time we’ve had a bad experience at this establishment) I, my mother, & nephew decided to go through the drive thru for breakfast(around 10am ) We noticed other vehicles had been waiting and just decided to leave which seems to be a thing at this place. We decided to wait, talked about what we wanted at the speaker ( but no one had taken the order yet) then a worker comes out with a note that says “no eggs, just lunch” (okay, no eggs. Let’s just get something else) he goes back in, we wait and nobody answered. so we drive up to the window. We ask “hello are you taking orders?”. The worker says “ yes but our system is down” (talking about the intercom) then shuts the window. we wait and notice he’s packing up breakfast so I told my mom “let’s just go inside”. She pulls around the front and as we were walking in another vehicle pulls up to the drive thru. Nobody answered so I thought I would walk over and tell them it’s not working. As I get there the worker starts speaking on the intercom and offers to take the order. So by that point I’m very confused. I go in and ask about everything and the worker very rudely pointing & telling me to read the sign and that he doesn’t want to argue about anything. At that point I’m just annoyed and tell him to take my mothers order. I did not get the name of him but he is a Tall,Fair skinned, individual with red hair & dark glasses. Do...

Poor service. Got to the menu in the drive thru and got asked to wait a minute to place my order, assumed it was busy which it didn’t look to be but we waited regardless. Sat there for an unreasonable amount of time for the 1 other vehicle in the drive thru. Told the person on the intercom “we are still here” and got a very unprofessional and rather annoyed response by an older lady. When we finally came to the window she was obviously grouchy and we had a very unpleasant experience considering we were just grabbing food fast before leaving town. The lady went by the name Audrey, we did not appreciate the service. Altogether our wait was 15 mins or so...

What bugs me are the preachy signs everywhere while A&W just insults/ignores our Canadian beef industry. There's people in my family who have worked hard to produce excellent Canadian beef. Instead I see some video of cowboys running around a ranch in California. Seeing as A&W is more rurally located than many other franchises - they ought to rethink their strategy on this. Advertising proudly serving Canadian beef would be a better play in my opinion. Extra star over 1 because I personally have never had problems at this location.
