Planned our 180km ride around this pastry shop, as we love that it was cyclist oriented and promoted such an inclusive cycling community. However, upon arrival - prior to even being greeted we had a women who worked there aggressively direct us across the street to store our bikes when we were just trying to get a photo of the business and all of us in front.

Lexie - who seemed frazzled and unable to handle a busy Sunday shift, was hostile and disrespectful as could be towards us all. She insisted the patio was closed because they wouldn’t serve outside- we asked if we could just sit outside, and collect and bring back our own food. This was shut down by constant aggressive repetition of “how many times do I have to tell you the patio is closed”. When any cyclist or cyclist cafe knows, most cyclists will want to be outside near their bikes. We then asked if a couple tables could be brought together. She said she would look into it, and as we came inside to be sat at those tables, she happily offered it to a new family that came 20 minutes after us! At this point when we asked her what our options were she actually told us (with all of us ordering and having paid for our food) to find a curb down the street or use the patios of closed business on the street. Her co workers were lovely in trying to rectify the situation. However, Lexie was extremely terrible.

The food was 10/10! The...

I gave this a 3 out of 5. Not bad, not great. Here's my thoughts. Expensive place for a small town. I swung by here a few weeks back, bought a flaky pastry, a sandwich, and an iced coffee. It came to around $27, I kid you not. I nearly toppled over. I figured the coffee would be around $4, the sandwich $8 and pastry $4 for a grand total of about $16 with taxes in. Nope. $27. I don't think a flaky pastry should cost $7 + tax. OUCH! Maybe $4, $5 at the most with tax. You would sell more that way. Even Starbucks which charge crazy prices don't sell pastries for $7. lol. Okay as for coffee. I've had coffee here many times, drip, latte, americano, iced, it has never been enjoyable or tasty. If I lived here I wouldn't frequent this place which is sad because it really is a nice store. I would go elsewhere as its not affordable for it to be my daily go-to for coffee. Though I cannot fault them on the quality of their food. Staff are friendly. Food is very tasty so is the pastry. Place is nice too. Coffee, not so much. That's just my honest opinion. You may have a completely different experience. Anyway i score this place a 3 out of 5. I can't give it less because the food is good. I can't go high because the price...

Extremely expensive for the portions served. Came for Father’s Day and they served my dad’s meal to another guest (they didn’t disclose this to us, but I watched it happen and I lip read well, they just told us there was a delay).

This caused him to watch us eat (finishing our meals) before a new meal was provided to him. 10-15 mins later, he was given a replacement. Bummer for a Father’s Day meal, having the father be the one to not be served!

Server did apologize and gave a muffin for free. She also told us she discounted his meal, which was a whole $3.60 discount.

Bill for 4 breakfast, 2 teas, 2 coffees and pastries was over $120.00. Nice atmosphere but way too pricey and not super impressed with our first experience. Won’t be rushing...

I was very happy with how welcoming the Pastry Peddler was. We had a large group for food and beverages and they were happy to accommodate us. I had the peddlers club with a side salad and coffee. It was delicious! The coffee was on point freshly ground just the way mom used to make. I didnt taste the desserts however my group did and they were very pleased. I would recommend this place to anyone passing through, making a trip to the home hardware or fishing rice lake. Worth the 15 minute drive from bewdly. Will definitely return.

I have been a patron of this fantastic Cafe for a few years now, and I have never had a bad meal! This is a great spot for breakfast, lunch or even dinner as they are open later now! All of their treats are absolutely to die for, my favorite has to be their ginger cookies with a close runner-up going to their peanut butter brownies! Absolutely fantastic:-) all of the staff is fantastic and always super friendly! Thanks for many years of great service and tasty meals:-)

Great spot in Millbrook. Super cute and slightly rustic decor, very good service and the food was so good I can't wait to go back! Had the quiche of the day as well as the soup of the day, which was a creamy garlic scape and one of the best soups I've ever had. There are two nice bistro tables out front perfect for taking in the small town scenery. A must if you are in the area. Also - Millbrook does social distancing very well.
