We stopped by this well-known summer hotspot around 6:30 PM on a Saturday and were quoted a 20 to 30-minute wait to place our order. We got our order in, but were then told there’d be another hour plus wait for the food—something we were warned about, but decided to go ahead with anyway, hoping it’d be worth it.

Unfortunately, many others weren't as patient and left before ordering their food once they found out about the wait times. It’s clearly a very popular place, especially with locals, and the large outdoor patio offers plenty of seating, which is great for summer evenings.

As for the food: the haddock was the better of the two options we tried—nicely cooked and flavorful. The whitefish, on the other hand, had a strong fishy taste that wasn’t very appealing. The fries were crispy, well-seasoned, and delicious. The gravy on the side was rich and flavorful—and there were choices of regular or spicy tartar sauce.

In the end, while the atmosphere was nice and parts of the meal were enjoyable, I wouldn’t recommend waiting an hour and a half or more. We expected something outstanding based on the buzz, but overall, the food didn’t live up...

If you are visiting Manitoulin Island, you've gotta make time for Lake Huron Fish and Chips!

Their fish and chips are amazing—the fish is fresh, perfectly cooked with a crispy, golden batter that's just so good. And their fries or poutine?

But what really makes Lake Huron Fish and Chips special is their staff. They're so friendly, attentive, and passionate about what they do. From the moment you arrive, they make you feel right at home. Their love for the food and the island really shines through and adds to the whole vibe.

So, if you're exploring Manitoulin Island, definitely drop by Lake Huron Fish and Chips. It's all about delicious food, great service, and a fantastic atmosphere—a dining experience you'll remember for sure! Highly...

My husband, our children, and I decided to have dinner at Huron Fish & Chips tonight. We placed our order and were told it would be about a 30-minute wait, no problem. We took a walk along the beach while we waited.

However, when we returned, we were given the wrong order under the wrong name. The staff apologized and said our correct order could be ready in 10 minutes. Unfortunately, that brought our total wait time to 45 minutes and still no food.

At that point, we decided to request a refund and went elsewhere for dinner.

We’ve never had bad service here before, which makes this experience especially disappointing. I hope it was just an off night, but it definitely left a sour note...

We’ve been coming here for years and even ate here twice on our last visit to the island. Both times got so excited about “digging’ in” that I completely forgot to take photos of the actual food! That says a lot about just how yummy the food is. Tried the Haddock ‘N Chips the first time and White Fish the second time around. Wasn’t disappointed with either... quite easily one of my favourite Fish & Chip places anywhere! Super fresh, clean tasting, amazing! The homemade Tartar sauce was awesome too! Keep up the good work, thanks to an awesome staff. Anyone visiting MI must check this place out. F.Y.I. It’s a good idea to call ahead and order to reduce your wait time, it’s a very popular joint :)

Funky fish 'n chip shop with delicious fare! So good we went twice during our week on the island. Got the classic white fish and fries , then the haddock with onion rings. Even the burger was juicy and do flavourful. At peak times, there will likely be a wait... We waited 40 minutes the first time. Not a problem for us though as we weren't in a rush... just went down for a scenic stroll along providence beach while we waited! They have a great large patio with tons of seating, and play fun music. The staff are all passionate and clearly enjoy their gig. Awesome place!
