This place doesn't have to try hard as it is literally the only sushi joint between Sidney and Victoria. And try it doesn't. The nigiri and rolls were made with hard, stale rice and the fish and had a slight odour of baseball sock. Portions are well sized to ensure you remain hangry afterwards. Cleanliness was questionable as floors/tables were all slightly sticky as if somebody mixed up the 'Extra Strength Mr Clean' with 'Mr Pibb Xtra.' On the flip side, friendly proprietors and the food came quickly. No food poisoning.

4.5 / 5 😃: super friendly staff and good service. 😃: tempura is super crispy and crunchy, I ordered the 3 pieces tempura combo, beyond my expectation. 🤨: sushi are not in the super yummy zone, taste not bad but the quality of the sushi rice is not as good as I expected. Note that they use wild salmon for Nigiri, which does not have the fatty taste like farmed salmon. Since the tempura are so good, I will try some of their other fried dishes next time.

Rolls are overpriced for the quantity you get. The rolls are tiny! If you’re hungry, you still won’t be full after $30. Food tasted alright but certainly felt ripped off.

The best of this sushi dinner was the perfect ripeness of the avacado. Oh, and I did like that the rolls were a manageable size. lol I've had some amazing sushi and I've wondered why do they make them so big?!? I ordered a spicy salmon roll and received something that had cooked fish and teriyaki sauce. YUCK. The caterpillar role was mediocre at best. The seaweed salad seemed like it had been sitting for way too long. The yams in the yam rolls were mushy. The cucumber and avacado rolls had the star of the show....The Perfect Avacados! Oh, and if you like wasabi (as we do!) you will get the tiniest little package for 6 rolls and it's not even real wasabi. It's runny and gross. Hardly worth the price. Instead of satisfying my sushi craving this place made me not want sushi for...

We hadn't been for sushi in a long time and this hit the spot! The green tea was perfectly steeped. The miso soup did not disappoint, it was lovely after our chilly walk to the restaurant. We had the Hot Night roll, the Unagi roll, the Fried Philly roll and two spicy tuna tempura cones. It was all very tasty, my favorite being the Fried Philly roll! Perfectly fried, making the cream cheese the right amount of melted. I recommend dipping it into the sauce that comes with the tempura (we got prawn, very good!). The staff was very nice and very quick! I'm so glad we checked this place out, we...
