Hands down best creole chicken salad in the Greater Victoria area! We travel all the way from town to the Prairie Inn at least once a week. They have a really great selection of pub style food and it always test fresh, never greasy. In fact we can’t say that we have ever had a bad meal there. We highly recommend the homemade soups as well, especially the mushroom, super hardy and creamy, delicious. The venue is a historic building and has kept most of its old-times look which is fun. There is interesting historic décor all around as well which makes for something to look at. The feel of the PI is as though you’re sitting in your own living room having dinner. It can get really busy there so we try to avoid peak times or head in a little early. Sundays are usually our day to go for salad so at times we struggle to get a table as there are a lot of people with our same great idea! There are children allowed at the PI which as parents we think is nice, but with that being said at times there have been those parents with little kids that forget they are not at Denny’s and let their kids act more like they’re at the McDonalds play place. Word of advice to parents taking kids to a pub environment… This is a great opportunity for children to learn how to behave in an adult setting. The staff is really great and we’ve never had an unfriendly server. Our last meal took a little long to come out, an hour, but that was totally unusual and has never happened before. All in all the Prairie Inn remains one of our favorite places to go for an affordable and delicious date night out and even a family meal. It's a fun environment with sports on the T.V.'s, lots people and tons of laughter. It's a great location if you have other shopping to do or are just looking for a Sunday motorcycle ride and lunch. We give it 5 stars!

I recently visited a local pub that left me with mixed feelings about my meal. Let’s start with the positives: the nachos were fantastic! The portions were incredibly generous, piled high with all the toppings you could ask for. There was a perfect balance of cheese, jalapeños, sour cream, and salsa. I liked how it was all served on a large tortilla! However, the guacamole served alongside was a bit of a letdown—it had a strange, almost plastic aftertaste that threw off the whole experience. The atmosphere in there was very warm and welcoming, with lots of lights and had a very cozy feel to it. I just also wished their was more attention to the entrance of the door as there were a lot of people waiting to be seated and no server was attending to them, most people don’t know if they are needed to seat themselves or someone will direct them, If anything a sign saying so would be nice! 👍 I also decided to try the French onion soup, which unfortunately didn’t hit the mark for me. The broth was way too concentrated, making it a bit overwhelming and less enjoyable than I’d hoped. That said, the Caesar salad was excellent—crisp, fresh greens with a perfect dressing-to-lettuce ratio, and plenty of parmesan. Overall, while some elements were a bit hit or miss, the generous portions and tasty nachos make it worth another try. I’d definitely visit here again and try some of the other delicious foods on their menu they have to offer!

So listen up this how the story goes. You come to this place and order food. First thing is big portions second the food is amazing third the staff are gems. After your food your going to say dam that was good and you will keep coming back for more. Then you are going to try the famous Belly Buster Burger then you won’t eat for two days. Then you realize the P.I is one awesome place and you tell all your friends. Then it will all repeat. Big thank you to the cooks and the staff at the P.I for always providing such a great place to come. Keep up the great work. See you all again soon.

This last trip to Prairie Inn was for take-out, so that will likely shorten up this review. It was a bit of a last minute decision so I pulled up to the restaurant just before 5 PM to place an order and I was expecting a longer wait for the food to be prepared. Much to my surprise my order was ready in about 15 mins, which gave me time to run over to the Drug store just next driveway over.

I ordered fish tacos, tempura prawns and a cob salad and as is always the case at the Prairie Inn, the portions were large. This is the second time ordering a cob salad to go and I was super impressed by the size of the salad. I ate what I could with the fish tacos and still had half leftover for lunch the next day. Not only large, the salad was very good, with fresh crisp greens, plenty of ham and turkey and a hard boiled egg on top.

The fish tacos are very good as well and certainly don't taste overly fishy at all. The greens again were very fresh with some line wedges to squeeze over the tacos, very tasty.

If I was to pin point what I think it is for me personally that has this review at a 4 and not a 5, it would be the tempura prawns and the garlic bread. Both are decent, but just not up to 5 star standards for me.

I live close by and eat here every now and again and it is always consistent. I would have no problem recommending the restaurant to anyone as the food is always very consistent, the staff friendly and pretty good value for the money. Thank you for taking the time...
