First, the staff and place are wonderful no complaints Didn’t enjoy my first visit (previous review bellow) but wanted to give it another try to be fair and sadly my second visit did not change my mind. This time I ordered the okra with meat but ended up with more fat than meat, the okra was super overdone and the sauce gave both me and my wife instant heart burn, a little lemon helped but had to leave a lot of it. I also had the lentil soup but it was too salty left most of it. My had the shishtawook plate, I’ve tried the potatoes and they were tasty chicken was more less on the dry side. Side were good we both enjoyed them (baba ghanoush, fried eggplant with tomatoes, feta, egyptian bread) Place still looks amazing and service was decent but if you’re egyptian and looking for an authentic egyptian plate you’re better off somewhere else. previous review: First, the staff and place are wonderful no complaints there. Food wise maybe as an Egyptian I’m more critical than others but what I had was mostly underwhelming, I was hungry and drove an hour to try the place out. The vine leaves were cold and the rice was hard, molokheya tasted more less like chicken soup. I did like the falafel as its made with fava beans instead of chickpeas, proper Egyptian. I tried some of my friend’s hawashee it was very hard in the bottom and quantity wise is left more to desire. Hummus salad was nice, so is the eggplant salad. A decent amount of tea with mint that we both enjoyed. My wife want to try the place despite my experience and I’m willing to give them another chance and will update this review accordingly

@June, 2023 - evening ما شاء الله تبارك الله Full service restaurant that offers a good amount of authentic Egyptian dishes. There are some overlaps such as shawarma and falafel, however, what folks really wanna try are the main dishes. I had the Hawashi and here, they do not fry it but instead grill it and in that process the fat from the meat is absorbed in the bread. 😋The meat was seasoned just enough so as to not to lose its taste. The Egyptian bread is a special kind of bread that is more wholesome than the Levantine bread and these folks get it from a local bakery and it’s fresh and made right. With all that said and done, unfortunately, the hummus wasn’t at par. Unfortunately, most places used canned chick peas and the water from the can, which makes for a subpar experience. We had to pay $1 extra for the salad, which was supposedly included with the main course. Woohoo post Covid inflation. The owner and his son run the pace and it’s fairly well decorated. I didn’t get a chance to take pictures!

Very authentic, quality Egyptian restaurant - the menu had all my fav's including grilled meats, koshary, torly, falafel (properly made with those lovely green fava beans), even molokhia... Tried the okra and beef stew, and my hubbie had the moussaka. Prices are reasonable and portions were very generous - the dishes come with home made pita bread, a very tasty salad of your choice (try the baba hamdi salad!), and fresh hummous. Many of the dishes also have a side of crispy roasted potatoes and a delicious garlic aoili. If you have any room left, the desserts are a standout! A must try is the dreamy rice pudding, topped with caramelized pistachios and an out of this world syrup. Ohhhh I am craving it already just thinking about it. Next time I'll try the konafa! And yes, there's a real Baba, the chef behind the counter is very friendly, from Cairo.

I don’t know where to even begin with how blown away I am from this restaurant. I am not lying when I say that this is the best Egyptian food i have ever had outside of Egypt. Everything was perfect! My friend and I were visiting from New York and we came for dinner last night. The Koshary was excellent (and I am very picky about Koshary)! And the Bamia (okra) was so flavorful and cooked to perfection! There is nothing like Egyptian hospitality. The family and employees are so kind and hospitable. Our waitress Mushfika was the kindest young lady. Adam, Hamdi’s son, was such a genuinely kind soul! He brought us Egyptian mint tea and basbousa on the house after we finished our meal and it was delicious! We did not want to leave as we truly felt like we were at home. I 10000000% recommend this place to all! You will not be disappointed!

Update: We came back for breakfast this morning before our drive back to New York and WOW! If you are Egyptian, you might think our breakfast is pretty basic but when I tell you it was to die for, I am not lying! The foul (fava beans) were seasoned and cooked perfectly, the falafel was scrumptious, the bread is just like authentic Egyptian bread (balady) so fluffy! The eggs, basterma, and everything else were perfect! The breakfast is one price and you get the entire spread, just like home but somehow better. (Don’t tell my parents!) Today, Fayza served us and she was so kind and extremely sweet. I truly fell in love with this place and I will be coming back to Quebec just to...

Went to this hidden gem last night. We had the mixed grill special for 4 people and wow it was truly a delight. 4 choices of salad all were delicious (my favorites were the artichoke salad and the cabbage salad). The mixed grill plate came with lamb chops, kefta, filet mignon and grilled chicken. As well as heaping portions of rice and garlic potatoes with a garlic sauce. The food was so delicious all the meat was cooked to perfection and we even had leftovers to take home because of the generous portions.

The ambiance of the restaurant was so warm and comforting. The Egyptian decor was beautiful. The service was some of the best service I have had in a long time. The waitresses were friendly, quick and always close by if we needed anything. They were able to make recommendations for the dishes that we did not recognize and were warm and friendly throughout the entire dinner service.

We asked for our mixed grill platter family style and it came beautifully presented. It looked so good we didn't even grab a picture before diving right in. The establishment is bring your own wine as well.

Perfect for a date night, family meal or night out with friends. We will definitly be returning again.

I would highly recommend. A true hidden gem...
