Restaurant De La Place — Restaurant in Châteauguay

Took over two hours to get our food after ordering, service was slow and the owner and manager were rude and not mindful of allergies (mind you it was busy) not even the problem, but my husband has a gluten allergy (Not a preference but an ALLERGY) anyone that is celiac should avoid this location... Anyway he ordered 3 lobster tails and told the server about his allergy (fresh lobster is typically gluten free and a safe option if not pre packaged) .... After the two hour wait my food had finally arrived the server THEN told my husband that the meal he ordered had gluten and offered my husband to switch up his order, he didn't want to wait another hour or so since i would probably be done eating by the time his meal would be ready he then denied another dish. As we were about to leave my husband and brother in law thought they should talk to the manager to hopefully prevent this from happening to someone else and tell them to tell someone with an allergy that their meal can't be made without said allergy after ordering or ask the cook if possible.... The chef/owner came to discuss when we asked for the manager and asked if we would compensate for him haveing to throw out his lobster tails, which I don't know why he had cooked them in the first place knowing that my husband couldn't eat it. Seemed more of a communication problem inbetween the server and chef which is not mine or my husband's fault at all..then proceeded to ask my husband if he would die if he ate it.... This situation was not handled properly very poorly and I would NEVER COME BACK OR RECOMMEND ANYONE...

Came here to celebrate my nephew's birthday...reservations made for 5pm, got here at 4:55pm...after 1 hour and 15 minutes, still no food yet. There was one waitress for 3 parties?! We have 2 kids at the table (no other tabkes with kids) and apparently that doesn't make a difference. When my son finally got his pasta, it was cold!! Last time I ever go there! The manager standing behind the bar doing nothing, didn't help, didn't care when we complained and then seems to have yelled at our waitress, which none of this was her fault! Hire more waitresses and treat them better. Can't review the food, never got any, we left after...

De la place is a underrated delicious restaurant. Unfortunately for them the service is mostly horrible. By that I mean either waiting an hour or longer to serve the main following the appetizers - or the children being served after the adults after requesting to have it at the same time. Or getting the mains 3 mins after receiving the apps or full blown no service at all. And I mean stacks of plates on the table because no one has checked in in over an hour. Their food on the other hand is exceptional so because of the bad service I would recommend takeout. We travel 40 mins for the food because that's...
