Barney's Leduc — Restaurant in City of Leduc

For a gastro-pub, Barney's is indeed a hidden gem! This is the second Barney's, the flagship is located in Wetaskiwin . The decor is funky and different. There is a lot of what looks like reclaimed wood, and glitter vinyl covering the booth seats. There is a featured, long booth on the back wall that looks like something out of a malt shop in the 50s. They have a room for meetings or group gatherings that can be provided. There is also a games room.

Firstly what makes Barney's different is the "Pour My Beer" wall. It features Alberta craft beers that you can try in any amount you want. You get a card loaded with 32 oz. The digital display almost reads like a gas pump, it will tell you the dollar amount as you pour. When you have reached your 32oz, the AGLC requires that you check in with your server to ensure that you haven't had "too much". If you are good to go, you can get another 32 oz put on to your card.

As if the beer wall isn't cool enough, the food is AMAZING! Where has Chef Chris Hickman been hiding all of my life? Ingredients are sourced locally as much as possible.

I was impressed that my two favourite dishes from the evening were (mostly) meatless! The "must trys" are the Barney's Sweet Potato Fries and the baked brie.

The baked brie is wrapped in phyllo pastry and finished with caramelized pecans. It was the perfect balance of gooey and sweet. The sweet potato fries were fried perfectly and then topped with pork belly bacon bits, Parmesan and garlic aioli.

This is one of those gastro-pubs that I cannot wait to...

Great food, terrible hospitality! Hospitality is important when you're in the hospitality industry and attached to a hotel! We ordered pickup online through a third party site which allowed us to select a specific time for pickup. However, the confirmation on the restaurant's end confirms a time 30min later. What's the point of selecting a time?(Note, we ordered 5 hours earlier). It all goes downhill from there! I had our 3 yr old daughter with me to pick up food...and greeted with not knowing where our order was and maybe 4 servers telling me that our daughter wasn't allowed there. We got it, we're just here to pick up our food and no one could give me an update! Please note the bartender was the only person with actual customer service! The manager lady greeted us by telling me again that my daughter wasn't allowed there, by that time I was so frustrated and answered quite annoyingly that we just wanted to pickup our food, we're not dining-in and just waiting and the manager had the audacity to tell me not to speak aggressively. Told me to leave and will have someone deliver outside to my car. Waited outside for 15 more min and the manager lady gave our food without any apology or acknowledgement or thank you for the business, not one word. July 1, 2023 at 5:15pm. Thanks...

A friend of mine had been telling about this place for a couple of months and how great their food is. We finally went there a couple of weeks ago and had an amazing experience. The wings were incredible. They were definitely fresh and never frozen which is hard to find. Great value for your money on their Thursday night wings promotion. Not only was the food excellent, but what truly stood out was the exceptional service from our server, Samantha. Her attentiveness and friendly demeanor made for a great evening out. Rarely do I go out anymore and have great food AND great service. It's usually one or the other - not both. If I was to offer one piece of advice to management it would be that it was just a bit cold when we were there. This was during a recent cold snap and I realize that sometimes HVAC systems take a day or two to regulate themselves to such extreme temperature changes. I highly recommend requesting to be seated in Samantha's section for exceptional service. If nothing else the warmth of her personality will make up for any temperature deficiencies in the building.
