stopped in at Dickies in Leduc recently and had a really excellent experience all around. First off, the food was spot on—the brisket was especially good: tender, juicy, and full of that slow-smoked flavour you hope for but don’t always get. I also ordered the chicken, and it was just as impressive. Moist, nicely seasoned, and cooked perfectly. You could tell everything was made fresh and with care. The portions were generous too, and everything came out hot and exactly how I ordered it.
But what really made the visit memorable was the service I received from Tariq. From the moment I walked in, he greeted me with a smile and made me feel welcome right away. He was polite, professional, and genuinely friendly. He walked me through the menu, helped me decide what to get based on what I was in the mood for, and made sure I had everything I needed before I left. It didn’t feel rushed or transactional—he actually took the time to chat a little, answer my questions, and make sure I was happy with everything.
It’s rare these days to come across someone who takes such pride in what they do and shows that level of care to customers. You can tell Tariq enjoys his work and wants people to leave with a good impression—not just of the food, but of the whole experience. And thanks to him, that’s exactly what I had.
If you’re in the Leduc area and craving some quality BBQ, I highly recommend stopping by Dickies. The food speaks for itself, but if you’re lucky enough to be served by Tariq, you’ll see what truly great customer service looks like. I’ll...
Read moreWatch where your money goes at this location. Seems I'm not the only person who has experienced strange inexplicable charges. (And a lack of proper receipt.)
I don't know how I paid a total of 45$ for a 22$ combo, and a turkey sandwich with a Mac and cheese. No drink. The website says my sandwich and side would have been about 12$. They claimed this was a mistake on their app, but even looking at their in-store menu, there's a few dollars unaccounted for.
Quick to offer an in store discount, but I think I'll pass and steer well clear of this place.
Get your prices right folks. Not cool.
Response: According to the owners response, I should have paid 9.99 for the classic turkey. Make it a combo for 4.99, then add an extra 3$ to upgrade my side to a Mac and cheese. (Yikes.) That's 17.98. My partner ordered the 21.99 combo. With tax that's 41.96. My total came to over 45$.
I know it's not a huge difference in cash but between being told online that my order would be 12$ with any side, period, to going to 17$ in-store, and then a few other extra dollars unaccounted for, I feel people should watch their cash in this establishment. Too easy to spend more than expected with these 'upgrades' and digital oopsies. I'm also not the first review to mention these issues.
Ps. You didn't speak to me on the phone or in person. That was my partner. And he did take the one cup given, for the one combo we actually ordered. I didn't order a combo. Just the sandwich and mac and...
Read moreI was really excited to try some genuine authentic barbeque, but I was extremely disappointed with the service and the food. First of all, 26$ for a two meat plate, which may I add was advertised incorrectly, the two meat plate is advertised at 21.99, but what they don't tell you is that they change an additional price for each meat selection, AND it doesn't even come with a drink which is an extra 2.50 or so. So after spending 7$ more than I planned, I was not only served the sweetest BBQ sauce I have ever had (practically like candy, horrible) but the brisket was the driest cut of meat I've tasted, absolutely flavorless, I've had better cuts of meat at Montana's. Don't let something as good as authentic BBQ be ruined by some franchised middle of the road fast food restaurant, serving the same meat as the McDonald's across the street. Avoid...
