Browns Socialhouse — Restaurant in City of Spruce Grove

We arrived 15 minutes to 6:00pm and we were two groups of six. Six women and six men. The men arrived about 20 minutes before us and were seated promptly and we were asked to wait. Then we were told we could sit at a table beside them but had to bring a chair, another server came by as we were about to sit and told us it was unsafe and that they couldn’t accommodate us at a table but at the bar. As we were about to leave, another server approached us and informed us there was actually a table available on the other side of the bar so we sat there . By the time we sat down it was 5:52 and the happy hour menu was over at 6:00pm some of the group myself included preferred to order from the happy hour menu so we rushed to decide what we wanted. The server was impatient as the bar was getting busier and took the drink orders of half the table and informed us she wanted to get the orders in before six. The first 4people she asked were undecided on what they wanted to eat and said they would order from the menu. What angers me is the server ( who was an Asian lady with several tattoos) ignored myself and another lady ( we are both Asian) and we were ready to order. We tried to wave her down as we knew we had limited time to order but she didn’t return to the table . I had to hunt down a different server and gave him our order. At this point ,.. I was fine as I’ve been in the service industry in my younger years . I get she was busy. It was when she came to take the orders from my colleagues that I became angry. She was very visibly annoyed that I had tracked the other server ( maybe he was more senior?)and defensively told my other Asian friend that we were clearly undecided so she had to move on and take orders from tables that were ready. This was partially true . But we WERE ready to order she didn’t even ask to take OUR drink orders. I watched her linger at another table of men also undecided . She spent 5 minutes at that table without hesitation . Engaging in conversation .it was her disrespectful tone to my colleague and lack of care in general. She forgot to bring us our drinks but brought everyone else’s.

The third thing , lack of description on the menu . I specifically asked for salad but was brought rice for my side. I am diabetic so I can’t eat sweet foods and when I asked about the dishes I had ordered I was told they weren’t super sweet . On the contrary ... they were saturated in sugar . The food was awful. The happy hour menu is confusing and if you ask for clarity she didn’t give it to you. I wanted to order more and adjust my dish but the waitress never came back. Exhausted from a full day and not wanting to make a scene , I did nothing . Server’s demeanour and attitude was gross and disgusting. She has an air of entitlement for bad behaviour and has no clue on customer service. Maybe because we were also Asian she felt no need to serve us and talk to my colleague the way she did? No apology for skipping us . Nothing. Just irritation and treated us like we were invalids.

Just gross. It took every part of me from making a scene and putting her in her place .

Please train this server again . I understand if you dress provocatively and flirt with men you will get good tips ( she was the same server for the men’s table we came with and they said she was funny, flirtatious and took her time . She didn’t seem rushed at all) The least you could teach her is to not be so blatantly obvious about it . We were a group of professionals from Calgary and every woman at the table was...

My girlfriend and I went to dinner here for our anniversary, and we were left disappointed. We started by ordering Shirley temples that were probably 80% ice that I ended up paying 6.50$ per drink. I took about 3 sips and it was gone. My girlfriend ordered a spicy chicken sandwich without the spice ( without the jalapenõ mayo) and I ordered fish and chips, as well as 2 waters to eat dinner with. Once we got our food and water, my girlfriend noticed that the chicken sandwich still had the spicy mayo instead of regular mayo. The waitress came by and asked if it was still spicy which she replied with yes. And she did not offer to take it back, she just simply said it would be the breading and not the mayo causing the spice. The fish and chips were pretty good however I was disappointed with the amount of fish I received as well as the fries were pretty soft, there was also a thin lining of paper on the plate that got wet and had holes in it by the time I was done eating. After all of this with the food, we had both drank our small “baby” waters” about 1 minute into eating, and nobody came to fill them so we were left without any water to eat our food. We overheard the table behind us asking another waitress if there server had started working in the bar which she replied with yes. It was clear that they were understaffed and I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but I just couldn’t after being so excited to go...

EDIT: said we wouldnt come back but said lets try BUT Here we go again unfortunately, it seems ypu only get decent service if you dine in, today at 5:20 we called placed an order for chicken sandwiches and was told 30min... i got my order at 6:08 better then last time, We get home and our chicken is burnt (literally black spots burnt) we ordered one regular and one modified as my wife has vertigo and they both came out the same way and finally both servings of fries were just below half the small container they put in the box. How hard is it to be consitant? We use to rave about this place when we firat came to spruce grove but now its either come in and dine or we will screw up your order.

Very unhappy. We ordered today and told our food for pick up would be ready by 7, my wife messages me at 7:34 staying she's on her way. Find out someone didn't "input properly" or some excuse to why the wait was 34 minutes.... Usally when met with a mistake its rectified quickly... anything over 20minutes is just sad and obviously there's no real care about customer service.
