On September 16th, 2021 we arrived At Tandoori Grill Spruce Grove Alberta for our lunch at 11:35 am. They advertise their lunch buffet so we decided to have that, We were seated, ordered water , the host said I will get you gloves( to handle the buffet spoons) . He never came back and then answers the phone and spends forever on the phones. At about the 10 minute mark , I got fed up and went and found the box of Gloves at the front Till, we proceeded to the buffet. Almost all the chafe dishes were empty or picked over there was only a few scraps. , There was lots of rice so we loaded up on that and dump the sauces from the near empty pans over them. (Expecting the chafe dishes would be refilled soon since it was lunch time) There was no curry beef, no butter chicken, no vegetable Korma there was only two pieces of tandoori chicken left, Look so terrible I did not take one, my lunch partner did and said it was cold and not good. All the sauces in the chafe dishes were room temperature or just plain cold. The server (Owner/Host/Manager) finally brought our long awaited waters, and then asked if we would like our pan bread(too late to be asking us now) We expected that more hot food was coming out, I had brought this up to the server a couple of times , each time he said it was coming but it never did other than more rice(go figure). There was only two other persons there( no more patrons came while were there) and since we were sitting back to back to them we could here there dissatisfaction too. At the 48 minute mark we had to get up to get back to our jobs. Just then they brought out a little(could fit in my two hands) of curry beef, Pathetic business practice and service. We both love Indian food but will not be back, too bad as we don’t have any Indian food choices in the area(we live here) . When standing at the till paying I expressed our dissatisfaction and the fellow , whom just look at me and said $41.90 . No caring at all. I suspect that the place has changed hands or ? It could be there were concentrating on filling take out orders /delivery orders so much that they could not do a good job for their eat in customers or all the above. I had had a direct line of sight to the kitchen serve thru window, and could see the cook(only one cook on) filling takeout Styrofoam take out container the full time...
Read more⚠️ WARNING: Stale food and terrible customer service at Tandoori Gourmet - Spruce Grove! ⚠️
I recently ordered food from Tandoori Gourmet and was extremely disappointed to find that it was stale and clearly not fresh. To make matters worse, when I left a negative review on Google about my experience, the restaurant responded by blaming me for ordering spicy food and claiming that was the reason for my upset stomach! This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional behavior. Not only did they serve me subpar food, but they also refused to take responsibility for it and instead tried to shift the blame onto me. I urge everyone to be cautious when ordering from Tandoori Gourmet - Spruce Grove. There are plenty of other Indian restaurants in the area that serve fresh, delicious food and value their customers. #tandoorigourmetsprucegrove #badservice #stalefood #unprofessional
Update: When they notice this review, the manager justified that we ordered the spicy food. For this reason we had this problem about stomach pain. There is no issue in there food. Means seriously is this yours justification.
Without accepting the mistakes they just message me and all fault is just because we instructed for spicy.
What a solution they...
Read moreCame here for the buffet (only on Wednesdays I believe) and it was quite tasty! I wouldn't say I was blown away by any of the dishes, they were solid though and there was a decent variety that was quickly refilled. A few vegetarian options if that's your jam. I found I wished the actual buffet serving dishes were hotter, a lot of the food was just barely luke warm but eh I still stuffed my face haha. Dipping fruit in the mini chocolate fountain was especially tasty!
Pretty affordable for a buffet too like $20 a person. Service was quick with removing plates and refilling waters, etc. On the downside it is quite a small place so tables are mashed pretty close together, the guy behind me smashed into my chair a couple times but eh not a big deal. There's an other side to the restaurant (not by the buffet) I didn't see that might be roomier. And the parking lot was quite full/ busy so it was a bit of a battle to get a stall but ultimately we did get a stall reasonably close just ya could be an issue especially for bigger vehicles. Worth trying for sure whenever you get the Indian...
