Don Cherry's Sports Grill — Restaurant in Clarenville

We stopped in for supper tonight. The greeter at the door did not greet us and I instead broke the ice. Decor is heavily outdated. Our server was the highlight of our trip. She was responsive and attentive.

The food, on the other hand was on the opposite side of the spectrum. I travel for work a lot and was looking for something more on the healthier side, instead of fried food. I decided on the hot roast beef, a favorite of mine. When the meal came out it looked presentable, however the gravy appeared and tasted like powered gravy mix and cornstarch. As much as I tried, i could not muster through more than 2 bites. When this was brought to the attention of the server she was very apologetic and said she would speak to the back staff. She came back to tell me that the chef said there was nothing wrong with it and I would be paying in full, which I obliged to. Sad to be leaving with an empty stomach and a much lighter wallet. We will never visit this...

This was not a very good experience. I ordered fish and chips, they were all out of fish. Then I ordered lasagna, they were all out of that too. Then I ordered chicken linguine and it came to me hardly luke warm. I sent it back and the next time it came out it was warm. But there were about 10 to 12 small pieces of chicken, that's all. I would have appreciated a bit more since it was my third choice. But there was disappointment at every turn. The only consolation was that the server was decent. But I won't be going back there any time soon. My wife had chicken tacos and there was a very small amount of chicken on that too. They are skimping to make more...

The services was slow, the food was gross and I'm definitely never eating here again. We were a table of 8 and ordered a variety from the menu, the nachos where actually burnt, the wings were dry, my gravy had lumps and so did the sauce from the Alfredo. The only thing enjoyable was the drink I had and that still to 30 minutes to get to our table and they forgot a drink. I had a steak sandwich that was literally a full peice of steak on one peice of bread the menu said AAA steak it definitely was not and was over cooked. All in all I gave it one star because that was the only way to write a review but the experience didn't even deserve that...
