Donnini's Pizza & Donairs — Restaurant in Clarenville

I finally came out to try this famous pizza. I had one of the slabs out front with a small donair sauce. It was pretty good. To be honest, after hearing so many great things about this place, the food was a little underwhelming.

Pizza: Crust was on the thinner side and cooked well. The sauce was a little bland. There was a good amount of cheese, but it was nothing special. Vegetables were diced pretty nicely.

Donair sauce: The donair sauce was pretty good. They make it there, and they do a good job with it.

Service: This was actually pretty wild. The guy out front ignored us because he was on the phone taking an order (which I understand). However, he then went out back and one of the pizza cooks started swearing at him for mixing up an order. If you are like me, this was a little funny, buy definitely not family friendly. Once they were done fighting the first guy, who was the one on the phone, sent a jolly lady out to serve me.

Verdict: The pizza was 3/5; it is on the upper-end of average, but still average. The donair sauce was 3.5/5; I would get it again. The service, well, tbh, I brought the rating down because I didn't feel like the swearing was appropriate in a family place at 3 in the afternoon.

The last time we ordered from Donini’s left a bad taste in our mouth; that was over 6 months ago. We decided we’d mix it up tonight since we were busy until later in the evening and give them another shot. It’s a Monday night, I placed my order at 8:16PM, it is now currently 9:38PM and we literally just watched the delivery guy show up. Almost an hour and a half to have pizza delivered less than 5 minutes away? We asked for the pizza to be well done, and after waiting an HOUR AND A HALF ON A MONDAY NIGHT, the pizza dough is raw! Imagine that! I don’t even know how people defend this place or bother wasting their money, the food is definitely not worth the money...

Been going here since I was a kid, had pizza party’s here growing up and swore that this was my go to until tonight.. went in tonight to order and got denied because my name was on the wall “no orders to Cody kelly” I questioned why and couldn’t get a explanation… I recently had a ordered last week that had a mistake made they put green peppers on but I asked for just meat and pineapple on half, got replaced because the staff was willing to help me out, no big deal everyone’s human.. but I was told tonight I got banned for ordering for something to do with this recent order but no one would tell me why….
