I don’t even know where to start. When we walked in, we were greeted (from across the room) by a young girl who looked like she had just rolled out of bed. Her claw clip was nearly falling off her head, and the whole first impression was anything but professional. She pointed us to a table and handed us dirty menus.
We ordered the fish and chips and a breakfast plate. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement.
There was a puddle of grease under the fries, and they were glistening wet—not even close to crispy. The fish? Completely soggy. It looked like it had been dumped straight onto the plate from the fryer without even being allowed to drain. Even just a few seconds in the basket could’ve made a huge difference. The breakfast was slightly better, but still came with a pool of grease beneath the so-called “hashbrowns.”
Our server was the same girl who greeted us, and after taking our order, we never saw her again. No check-in. No drink refill. Nothing. I work in the industry myself, and I always tip—but I genuinely left nothing. This was hands down the worst service and food I’ve had in...
Read moreMy first time dining here and will likely be my last. Upon entering, was greeted from ACROSS the room & she pointed to where we should sit. I will say our order got taken very quickly & drinks were promptly brought out. I had the turkey soup- NO fresh or even frozen veggies- seems to be canned mixed vegetables (corn, green beans, peas & tiny bits of carrot). And a few chunks of turkey meat. It had zero taste. I tried adding my own salt & pepper to no avail. The soup was not even hot- warm at best. I also had 1/2 club house sandwich- no sliced ham on it, and the amount of lettuce & tomato was negligible! The bacon on it was icy cold as was the toasted bread. My mom had the poutine, again- not hot by no means. In fact, the Center of it was cold & none of the cheese curds even softened up, let alone starting to melt. The fries were also undercooked. We were not checked on at any point during the eating of our meal or asked if we needed/wanted anything else, nor asked at the counter when we paid how our meal was, so no opportunity to provide feedback...
Read moreJust left RODS RESTAURANT in clarenville. Ordered a small Fries with Gravy and a chili with garlic toast. After waiting over 30 minutes and seeing other tables that came in after us get their food I go up to the counter and ask if ours got missed. The server asked the kitchen staff about our order and one girl who i will not mention but i know her name replied in a not so nice tone we had to defrost the chili, it was frozen at which time i saw the garlic bread already done. A couple minutes later they brought our meals to us, cold garlic bread and all. You could hear the bickering in the kitchen, they were busy but then again they usually are lunch times. But as the old saying goes if you can't handle the heat stay out of the kitchen. This is not the first time we heard attitude from the kitchen staff, so i think they need to reevaluate their staff and get rid of a few. The wait staff are always friendly we have never hadir seen a...
