Went there with my wife for breakfast today. I had high hopes for this place; I wish I wasn't disappointed but I was.
We both had a benny; I had the smoked salmon and she had the Cali.
I was not expecting a place with the word "diner" in the name to be gourmet food, but I definitely expected better.
The hollandaise sauce was DISGUSTING!! And if the Dollarama sold swiss cheese, then I'd imagine it would taste like what was served on our Benny.
The hollandaise sauce looked and tasted like mayonnaise, and the swiss cheese looked liked plastic and tasted like rubber.
The waitress was really nice, and she asked me how we liked the food. I'm not one to complain to the wait staff, as it's not their fault, but she was really nice and I didn't want to lie to her. Lol
I did say to her that I would offer to teach the cook how to make a hollandaise sauce; it could've been that way because this is a new facility and maybe the cook doesn't know where to either buy hollandaise sauce or how to make it.
I'm definitely fine with hollandaise sauce that isn't real (a lot of restaurants don't make it on site) but I definately expected better than what they served.
The pictures from other reviews of the dinner menu look good, so I might check it out sometime.
As for the price, I found it fair and comparable to other restaurants.
I wonder if the owners have any other restaurants? I wouldn't mind checking them out...
Read moreMy family and I tried this newly opened restaurant, Liberty St Diner, and it exceeded our expectations. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance of comfort with warm lighting, tasteful decor, soft music and TVs. The meal was outstanding from start to finish. For the appetizers what we ordered were the breaded calamari and Liberty St wings. The breaded calamari was perfectly seasoned and fried to perfection. The sauce for the Liberty St wings checks out all the boxes above. The chicken fettuccine alfredo was perfectly cooked with rich flavorful sauces. The New York steak strips were also equally delicious. Finally, the fireside apple crostata was the perfect dessert to cap off a perfect dining experience. What truly set this restaurant apart was the exceptional service. As soon as we walked in, the staff welcomed us with pleasure. Our server went above and beyond to make us have a smile on our faces the whole time. Even the main chef came out to talk to us about how the food was going. The prices were reasonable for the quality and the portions. It’s rare to find a restaurant that combines fantastic food, great services, and such a lovely ambience at such a fair price point. I highly recommend Liberty St diner to anyone looking for a wonderful meal without hurting the wallet. I can’t wait to return to explore more...
Read moreWow!!!!! This place is absolutely amazing!!!!! Heard so many great things about Liberty street diner and we had to give it a try for ourselves. It did NOT disappoint. I ordered the Canadian burger with a side salad. I removed items from my burger and my salad and guess what? They got it perfect. (You would be surprised how many times restaurants mess it up) The burger was hands down the best burger I've ever had. Thick, fresh, juicy, flavorful and more. The peameal was thick and moist (I know moist is a bad word, but it really was lol) The salad was fresh, crisp and flavorful veggies. My husband got the cowboy burger and fries. He said it was the best burger too. He absolutely loved the fries. They were the perfect crisp and very flavorful. Our meals came to $32!!! You can not beat the price and quality. Our servers were incredibly friendly, we were greated right away and felt so welcome. Both the severs helped us and both were super friendly. Very personable, bubbly and smiles all around. You can tell its a great place to work. It's clean, warm, bright and inviting. We will now make this our weekly lunch spot. My husband and I already lined up what we want to eat next visit (probably this week 🤗) Thanks so much for the...
