It was a cute enough restaurant and the patio was very pretty with all the flowers. The food was delicious (especially the home fries and crepes). Good prices too. However, when my partner and I came, the waitress took a very long time to get back to us. We were there for almost 45 minutes before she even took our order! I get it, things can get busy in the kitchen and whatnot, but other people were sat and food served to them before us (with 3 or 4 people) who arrived AFTER we got there. While we were eating another waitress came and asked other tables how their food was and if they needed anything etc, and walked right by our table without saying a word. The waitress we had was very nice and never said anything rude, it wasn't anything with her personality- just time management. We felt a bit looked over and didn't appreciate how the service was provided. I'm not sure if it was because we were younger (in our 20s, on a brunch date?), but it was just the two of us and we are still paying customers. Would not recommend if you have plans to go somewhere after. It only took us about 10 minutes to eat our meal and we were there for almost 2 hours. We weren't in a rush, but something to consider for next time. Also, if you have a bee allergy, would not recommend sitting on the patio because there are a lot of bees by the flowers. Very pretty though if you don't...
Read moreGiving a 3 star rating because we has a good experience the first time coming here. The second time… not so much. When we arrived, there was about 5 empty tables. The waitress told us to pick anyone of them. Although, we were a party of 2, we picked a table of 4 because the tables for 2 were in extremely awkward spots. We were then asked to move to another table when more people came in afterwards, which was a little annoying but we understood. So we get moved to a table of or 2 that was against the wall in a corner. And As more people got seated, we eventually found ourself wedged in this corner with almost no way to get out. The waitress had to squeeze behind another table to bring us our food. The service was decent up until then. But unfortunately we sat for 20 plus minutes with empty plates wanting to check out but our waitress was nowhere to be seen. My husband had to go up twice to the bar to find her, and once he did, she didn’t even remember our table. I understand it was busy and I could tell all the waitresses were working hard and clearly overwhelmed but the corner we were sitting in was already so crowded and uncomfortable, having to wait such a long time to get checked out made it even worse. This place could definitely use some more organization and a better layout. Not good when a waitress can barley get...
Read moreStopped in during a trip to Ottawa on a Sunday....they were open EARLY.
A short drive North of the 401 with an easy on onramp and offramp.
COVID policy in place, so seating is a little spartan, but adequate for maybe 8 couples inside. You need to record your names and telephone number in the ledger...but there's no "in/out" time listed. This is likely not a big deal and is in compliance, but if an outbreak were to happen, it would be difficult to know the risk of infection.
Typical breakfast menu with almost anything you like. Coffee is hot...it's not barista coffee, but still at par with any restaurant.
We had omelettes; the Meatlover's is AWESOME. I don't know where the sausage comes from but it IS very tasty.
Toast is toast, the only thing missing was some jam/jelly...it may well have been something that needed asked for.
home fries were hot, not too salty, and had a sprinkling of some kind of middle East spice (I think).
Service was smart....maybe 10 minutes from ordering to service.
Clean restrooms, but a garbage to dispose of hand towels outside of the bathroom would have been nice.
Two meals with coffee and tip and we left with full bellies...
