The Old Mill House Pub — Restaurant in Clearview

So disappointed and we just will never return. Creemore is a tourist area all season long and we’re sledders. We plan 3-4 trips a year with our lunch or dinner destination as the Old Mill. Yesterday we sledded 3 hours to have dinner and yes it was a Saturday and we’re sledders so making a reservation is tough. There’s to many variables but what happened when we arrived was outright brutal. First we were told 45 min wait which is ok but we had to wait outside in the cold. The girl at front desk was so unprofessional and needs training. She said max 45 min wait, we said ok. We even went back in 5 mins later to ensure she knew we were waiting outside in the cold. The events that happened next are absolutely a joke. We waited in cold for 45 mins, we went inside when she said to. We were greeted after 5 mins of standing in door way. She saw us and said “oh you’re still waiting right” like oh we’re too busy so like can you wait maybe 30 more mins” as she smiled and chuckled. Are you serious? Now we stormed out, hungry and had to sled home 3 hours to not order in at 10pm. This type of disrespect for any customer especially sledders who use this restaurant as a hub to stop to warm up and eat. This clueless naive hostess...

Went for a girls day out. We had reservations and were about to be seated when the waitress said that somebody requested a window seat. We were not asked if we minded but rather were just moved. Although, we did not mind, it would have been polite to be asked since we were already sitting. Our orders took a long time to arrive. We noted that others who arrived after us were served first. The food arrived and was really delicious. That was the last time we saw our server until it was time to pay; we were not asked if we wanted refills on our drinks, nor if we wanted coffee or dessert. The machine was dropped down on the table and the server took off. It timed out because I wanted to add a tip amount and not a percentage. When she finally returned, I asked how to add an amount- without a word she took the machine away and had it set to the tip amount. The others in our party were handed the machine in turn. We paid. She took the machine, did not ask if we enjoyed our meal not thanked us for coming. We were having a fun day so our sour puss waitress didn’t affect that but we all commented afterwards that not one would recommend the Old Mill Pub, nor return. By the way I did want a coffee so...

Brought friends here after most of the other places were closed as was a Sunday, and this place one of few where you can sit in. Was not busy and seemed everyone on the patio. Was calling for rain but small closed in patio with very large umbrellas. I have been here twice before and was not impressed with decorating, cleanliness of inside or the food (all before covid). I didn’t really want to go here but no choice as friends hungry. Still feel same about inside and they need to really do something with it. As said on patio with a noisy bunch guys. Rain came and they took food inside and then it was so nice and peaceful and we could chat and hear now. However I had a special hot dog that was a Spanish style , friend had one of the other hot dog specials and another had chicken nugget meal. All with fries. The portion was great for the price and all tasted great. I did share with friends my last two experiences there and glad this time it was very good and we had a nice afternoon.
