Hunnies — Restaurant in Clinton

Getting pizza on a long hot drive from Quesnel is a special memory for me. We were even able to call ahead of time to place our order. The pizza wasn't "gourmet" (because we just ordered a simple pepperoni) but it was still satisfying. It fed a family of two adults and 3 kids under 9. We also had ice-cream! We enjoyed these eats under umbrellas over picnic tables. It was a interesting spot to observe the town from. A hose slowly trickled water for a thirsty willow as the sun beat down. A smoker was processing something delicious on the deck of the shop. Several people tried to assist an older fellow under the influence across the street, whose greatest offence was falling asleep on the sidewalk. There was a mother strumming a guitar in the doorway of her house-shop across the highway with her baby playing in a storage container made into a shallow pool. The husband was forming one of a kind leather boots within. It is a great vantage point for viewing the rolling hills, homes, and farms that surround. I look forward to eating here again. A week into a camping trip, I drove into Clinton, BC for supplies. I dropped into Hunnie’s looking for some hot food, and ordered a pizza. The store is very COVID aware, allowing one person in at a time, plexiglass, masks, consciousness about cleaning touched common surfaces, etc. The nice people running the shop were awesome, and even loaned me a cylinder of propane when the other shops were sold out. I had a medium (8 slice) pizza with sausage and mushrooms. They delivered it out to the car for me. It was hot from the oven. Medium thick crust was perfectly cooked and golden brown. We stopped by yesterday... pretty much because as we drove through Clinton it looked like a ghost town due to the highway being closed in Lytton. We wanted to support someone in this small town and so we did a you turn and went to pick up ice cream. While the original intent was to help out a small business, we were more than impressed with the service, the hospitality and the quality of the ice cream. We'll be stopping regularly...
