The Stagecoach Cafe — Restaurant in Clinton

We had a lovely stop at this charming cafe while on a long road trip. Such a lovely stop, in fact, that we stopped a second time on our way home! I would give it six stars if I could.

The cafe is easy to miss - it is tucked away on the south side of Cariboo highway two stores west of McDonald. It is well worth looking for!

The homecooked sandwiches in the Interior. I would highly recommend the slow-cooked pork sandwich and Mexican coffee. Tres Leche cake makes for a perfect dessert. Hibiscus tea for the caffeine-disinclined.

For atmosphere, marvel at the owner Matthew's lovingly restored jukebox to the left of the door. Put on a song! It was incredible to see such a piece of history still pumping out tunes.

We had a lovely time talking with the owners. Maria and Matt - the little baby you saw that was on the inside is now on the outside! We will come visit as a family the next time we are...

Stayed the night in Clinton due to a breakdown the night before. I've never stayed in Clinton before but I stayed at the Nomad motel, went for breakfast at the Stagecoach Cafe. Authentic Mexican food, absolutely amazing Mexican coffee. Mother and son running it. Had some great chats with them while waiting. Such attentive, friendly service. Had an order of Chilaquiles and Molletes. More than enough food and I left stuffed to the gills. They have amazing cake I had to turn down because I was travelling back but I heard it was to die for. 10/ 10 stopping here again and I recommend...

What a gem this place is! We only came in searching for coffee to go. But being met with kind enthusiasm, we decided to stay for breakfast. The menu is intentionally kept small and authentic, prices are so reasonable, and our food was delicious! Conversation was genuine and light. The place opened recently, and the owner really wants to be part of the Clinton community. Places like this one are exactly what these remote highway communities need! We wish them so much success!
