We have found our new favourite chippy! We moved to NS a few months ago and have been on the hunt all over trying places recommended to us. The others have been good, but Scott's is the best by far. We had the special of the day which was the small seafood platter. Everything was perfectly cooked. I'm not a big fan of my fish drenched in batter. Theirs is exactly the way I like it. Light and crispy. The tiniest complaint I have is the coleslaw was a little heavy on the mayo, but the flavor is so good I used it in place of tartar sauce and it was the perfect bite. Like most of the older small restaurants in the valley, it's a bit dated and could use a little freshening up, but it was clean and tidy. The portions were generous, we barely finished. Can't wait to try some pie next time, made by the owner's wife. Scott's is everything you'd want from a small town, local, mom's and pop's shop.

I was excited to eat here. I walked in and was immediately met with dirty looks from the staff. I have to assume they don’t appreciate people from out of town coming here? I debated leaving without ordering but I’m hungry and this place had been recommended to me. I WISH I had just left. I ordered haddock tips and fries. They brought my food over and immediately I could tell it was quite undercooked. So to summarize, it seems they were clearly uncomfortable with a “stranger” eating here so they served me undercooked food so that I wouldn’t come back. I’m struggling to find another explanation for the horrible attitude and clearly uncooked fish….

My son and I, tried out this lovely little place. He enjoyed a wrap, while I had the special, Haddie Bits Platter. Both were good and was plenty filling. It's a quaint little place, that took me back a few years. Nothing flashy about the decor, which was very refreshing, enjoyable even. I'll definitely be back to share this little gem with friends, family and if I'm lucky, dates.

The food is still great however the portions keep getting smaller and smaller. The price on the other hand keeps getting larger and larger.

I mean they keep putting the prices up beyond belief. I ordered a large haddie bits and clams tonight and it came to 28.95.

I have never received such a small portion in all the years (15) I have been going here. They want to have their cake and eat it to. It was large and it was about 5 clams(most of it looks like batter they scraped from the bottom of the fryer)in the batter, and 5 haddie bits, and about 20 fries. I would hate to see the small for the price if that was the large. Like four years ago it was only about 17.99 and you got almost twice the portion size for take out.

If you are jacking the prices up and up and up, then at the very least keep the portion sizes the same isn't that the point of putting up the food price. But yet you keep giving far less food and jacking up the price anyway. I mean how much is one potato? I got like 20 fries as you can see in the picture.

I would like to eat there more but the prices compared to portions are no longer even close to reasonable for take out. If someone is spending almost 30 bucks at your establishment they should be getting more then that. Last few years they have been the very definition of "Shrinkflation" but they forgot the part about keeping...

I visited this restaurant about one week ago. I am on vacation from another province. (Month of July). One of my goals was to have some Seafood!! I ordered the seafood platter special. When it first arrived I was not sure if I could finish it. But as I started eating the haddock, the flavour was so delicious that I found myself unable to stop for even a moment. It was so fresh tasting. The scallops were next. Flavour was tasty too. Breaded clams …oh my! Schrimp was next. Yep …yummy. Underneath it all was French fries. I finished it all!!!!🤪 I could have eaten more but it was time to go with my hosts. They were very amused at my reactions as I consumed my meal. I would go back again if I could. This was a place I would highly recommend if someone wants a “ good feed” of seafood. It is a family run business so any support is always welcome. Especially with the recent flooding in the province. Thanks for a great “ full on” seafood meal. I will have some bragging to do when I return home. Especially to someone else that I knew was visiting the province from my home province. Looking for some delicious seafood also. Where does one go from here to find another seafood restaurant as good. High standard has been set. 🥳 Thanks once again to the staff of Scott’s Fish & Chips for a delicious...
