Ok, I have been here several times over the past couple of weeks and the first time I went my partner and I were super happy with our food and service.
I understand it is typical for only one person to work at a time, so it seems, as every time I've gone into a Booster Juice there is only one person working, so I don't want to hold anything against anyone. That said, the paste few times I've been here over the past few weeks the food and service have not been great. I've gotten the same thing every time: two hail kale juices (one with a double wheat grass shot) and two chipotle chicken wraps.
A few things to note: The few times we went here we were charged for a double wheatgrass shot and were not given other options. This is disappointing considering the last time we went we were given an option... by not giving us an option the first few times I am feeling like I am being taken advantage of which is poor business. Again, the first time we got the green juice you could taste all the ingredients: apple, kale, ginger, lemon. The last few times they've been predominantly apple, with the hue of green and little to NO notes of ginger and lemon. And, unforutnately, the last time our juice was brown, even the juice with the wheatgrass in it... I asked the employee about it and all she said was "I don't know." I left it as is, because what are you gonna do... but it's like maam... you made the juice, you clearly know how to make juice, so I am not sure why or how you didn't notice the normally GREEN juice is BROWN! and also... are folks just not adding lemon and ginger anymore? It is somewhat of an unpleasant atmosphere because all but the first employee have been not great... They aren't happy and appear to be annoyed when I ask for what I want... like... I am at booster juice to get something on the menu... I am not sure what the issue is. I hope the employees are treated well and better. I always think about working conditions, management, and owners when a team of employees have not great attitudes. So perhaps whoever reads this from this specific business takes that into consideration :) Finally, the last time I went here, one of my chipotle chicken wraps had a bone in it! I was leaving out of town so I couldn't go back and rectify the situation. But it was unpleasant. Thankfully, it was in one of my final bites, so it was not really a big deal. But it is worth noting. I assume the wraps are not made in house and or the chicken is coming from a package so it is out of this business' control. Just sharing my experience. I have had this wrap several times over the past few years and this is the first time this happened so its not a big deal. But given my comments above I thought I should share this too, since I am just letting it all out there.
Unfortunately (?), I will likely be back because I am hopeful things can improve and this is one of the only, if not the only, fresh juice place in Courtenay. Also, those chipotle chicken wraps are sooo good!
Sending positive vibes to the employees :) I hope you find your joy...
Ā Ā Ā Read more(this happened about a month ago)iām a person who suffers with social anxiety, i went in there for the first time wanting to try something new. so i go up to order and was greeted by a very rude man (tall, thin, has black hair and glasses). i asked for the strawberry surprise? (i think thatās what is called) but i asked for it without cranberries he immediately was like what do you mean? you need something to blend the drink with so i said ok iāll just have it with cranberry. be started becoming more and more agitated, at this point i actually starting shaking due to my social anxiety and then he raised his voice at me saying i need to put something in the drink to blend it because you canāt blend a drink without liquid (which i knew) and said yes with the cranberry juice, he makes the drink without asking me what size (i wanted the snack size but didnāt say anything) and he handed me the large more expensive size. i didnāt want to pay the almost $8 drink because of this poor behaviour. but did anyways and was left upset. do not come here if youāre looking for something new + wanted friendly employees (because i donāt think...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went in 10 minutes before closing and the open sign was on so I thought Iād get a drink last minute, but the second I walked in I was greeted with a disappointed face as I assume she didnāt want anymore customers. My dad walked in after me and asked if they were still open and she said no, because they had to do clean up responsibilities. Iāve worked a similar place for 2 years and Iām not sure what Booster Juices policies are on cleaning up the store, but in my experience typically itās done after the store is said to be closed. The time is written on the door for when itās to be closed, and if you were going to clean up early it wouldāve been better to turn off the sign and lock the door to make it more clear. Not to mention it looked like they had been cleaning up for a while, which makes me think that maybe it was started way earlier than needed. Will be going back, I love the orange smoothie. Just hoping for some better...
