I had never been to this establishment before. Found them online. Looked up the menu. Ordered a dish what I thought was number 24 turned out to be number 22 lemongrass chicken with rice. And I'd asked about a side spring roll. As it was not listed on the menu with that item. Went to pick up my order and found out that the price is online. Were not the prices that the items are now. They were more expensive. Also found out that she sold me an appetizer side of spring rolls when my meal actually comes with two small spring rolls. Included. The proportion of rice was great. The proportion of chicken was pitiful. As well as the side salad that comes with it. I was not impressed as my meal cost me more than anticipated and was overloaded with rice and maybe one chicken thigh worth of chicken. It was flavorful so kudos there. But overall I will not go back and not recommend it. I have had better in a mall food court with a bigger portion of food for less cost. I understand that they are not a chain restaurant but for the price you pay I would expect more.

Finally found a Chinese restaurant that was open. Once there was salt added to the wonton, it was awesome. It’s hard to find good wonton soup anymore. But the chicken chowmein had no flavour whatsoever & was dry with dry little strips of chicken on top. When I told the girl she scowled at me. Then when I went to pay she had it on the bill. It was pretty much untouched, that’s how bad it was. I pointed and said, “You’re still going to charge me for that?” It was still on the table, we packed up the wonton leftovers. I was even apologetic, I felt bad saying anything in the first place. She stormed away, yelling in Chinese to the kitchen. Comes back, scribbles it out dramatically. What a disgusting display. I would have went back for wonton, but not a chance after that. She should not be working with the public.

Really wanted to like this place, I'm not a phở export but a regular at dozens of spots in larger cities for 20 years, but kept expectations low in the Comox Valley but…there are better places in the Valley that Maple. As soon as the very small, thin, emaciated spring rolls arrived (three for $8) with ketchup-style packets of sauce we knew we made a mistake. The phở itself was meh. No greens or sprouts served with it—never been to a phở place that neglected them before. No chilli oil. If Maple Noodle was the only place in town than it'd be…actually nah, even if it was the only place it's not worth it, esp. with better, less expensive options a five minute drive. At least the service wasn't bad—not great, but not bad—despite being the only table seated for half our meal.

I had a very disappointing experience. I placed an order over the phone at 1130am to pick up at 1pm and I arrived 10 mins late due to traffic in town. They take my payment first and then tells me it will just be a few minutes. I asked if it was not ready yet then she explains that they had a rush at lunch and forgot it. If I knew they hadn't even started making it, i would've went somewhere else. I didn't like that they took my payment first without explaining. Now im stuck waiting for my food and they gave me a complementary can of coke to make up for their mistake which was a nice gesture. After waiting 15 minutes for my food, I was very surprised with the portion. The broth container was about the half of what I'd get at other pho places in town. They gave me a cooked noodle in ziplock bag size of my fist which is also less than half of what I'd get in other places. The broth was bland and it didn't come with any of the sauces. I was charged almost 90 dollars for 4 large soup and an order of deep-fried wonton which were also very small in size. I absolutely understand the price of food is expensive and they had to raise the price but...

Was there for lunch today(hoping their soup would help with the cold I am battling) and after eating about a quarter of my bowl of soup, I noticed there was something in it. I called the waitress and she took my bowl back to kitchen. She came back with what appeared to be a napkin on a plate. She showed it to me and said we don’t put napkins in our soup, implying that I do! That was that, no apology, no lunch, NOTHING! When we went to the front to pay for my partners lunch I was shocked that they charged me full price for my soup which I didn’t get the opportunity to eat. Over 30 bucks for a medium soup and a tea. When I questioned that, the owners were very rude and again said they don’t put napkins in their soup! Wasn’t about to get in an argument so we paid the bill, NEVER TO RETURN AGAIN AND I HOPE THEY REALIZE THAT WORD OF MOUTH GOES A LONG WAY! Just a note: We’ve been there many times and have always enjoyed our food. Too bad customer service is...
