I have been a loyal Petra's customer for over 20 years, long before the present owner took over. During mandates they were not respectful to any person unable to wear a mask. After the mandates, I went for coffee even though I had a bad feeling about the place. While in the line up at the counter, the teen working there tried to vaccine pass the very pregnant lady in front of me. We were both visibly shocked. Coffee houses and take out places were never required to ask for a pass. They were exempt from this discriminatory action. I pointed this out to the teen; she told me her boss informed them Delta Bylaw was making them do this. I called Delta Bylaw and they assured me they were not enforcing this at coffee houses. I was shocked this owner wanted to discriminate against people not wanting to take an experimental drug, known to have serious adverse reactions, if he didnt have too. It did not make sense to me as I knew most Tsawwassen business owners DID NOT want to discriminate and were very open about that. I boycotted Petras's for a while but old habits die hard and I went back to buy a bunch of baked goods and a coffee a few months later at the L'aromas location. I spent over 50$ as I so often have hundreds and hundreds of times in the past. I left and forgot my coffee - I went back a couple hours later and told them I forgot my coffee (they put your coffee on a separate counter, away from all the other baked goods you purchase). The owner was there and he made me another coffee. I was thinking about how cool he was to make me another coffee, and when he went to hand it to me, I said "thank you so much!" but just as I was about to have the coffee in my hand he quickly pulled it away - "PSYCHE!" Then he said (as he kept my coffee captive) If you ever leave your coffee here again - you WILL NOT get another one! I was so taken aback. What a rude way to talk to a customer?! I finally learned my lesson though! He never has to worry about it because I have never gone back after that, and I never will. Neither will any of my friends - there are too many kind people selling coffee in Tsawwassen who I would rather support. Plus we all figured out Thrifty's has amazing sourdough round as well, for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEDIT 4/2025: I have to amend my review. Their cinnamon buns are the most amazing I've ever had. They are so fluffy and soft and the icing they use is so unique. It's a light but flavorful tangy delight, almost like a cross between cream cheese and greek yogurt. I had to come back to it several times.
Wow! I loved the ham panini! The cheesy sauce on it was amazing and the bread was delicious. Highly recommend the blueberry danish, this is my second time coming for it because it's so fresh and has a nice sort of a light, slightly tart frosting that I love, with a delicious airy and buttery dough. Also recommend the oreo frappe, it was not watery or icey unlike most frappes I've had so I loved it. The only thing is there were no tags for the baked goods so I couldn't see the price or name. They had an amazing waffle sandwich thing with a chocolatey spread but I didn't catch the name š Would come back again to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time in here. I ordered a veggie sandwich to go, it was good but they put a napkin under the sandwich. By the time I got home the napkin was stuck to the bottom of the bread, which I had to peel parts of the bread away and a good amount of the cheese melted to the napkin. I also ordered a chocolate chip cookie to which the person confirmed at the front it was but when I opened it at home it's definitely a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie - which could be a huge issue for anyone who's allergic. Non of the cookies are labeled, so that's an issue. I used the toilet when I was waiting for my meal, which are spacious and reasonably clean however the door and light switch are noticeably dirty, nothing worse than cleaning your hands to then touch...
