This place is very different from other Vietnamese restaurants I've been to in the Lower Mainland and in a good way. We came here for dinner after going to Tsawwassen Mills and while I seemed skeptical of the Google reviews, we decided to give it a try.
First off, the Owner was in the front serving customers and he gave a level of service and generosity that one would see in Asia, particularly for kids.
The food is more Northern Vietnamese which is more back to basics. Interesting items on the menu was that you can get salad rolls with several different proteins. The notable items in the Pho was that the stock tastes lighter. The Owner told us they don't use MSG in their stock from long simmered bone broth which would explain the lighter taste and not wanting to drink down water right away.
Another thing was that the Bo Bun Hue was a real hit with my wife as that's her usual go to as the soup tasted good, especially when paired with the garlic chili vinegar they have one the side. She was still talking about it hours after dinner as to how much she liked it.
Our kids ate really well and downed the Pho they ate really well which doesn't happen at all the other Vietnamese restaurants we have eaten usually due to the MSG. Chicken in the Pho they ate was really good that we liked it too.
Honestly, this is a really good restaurant found in an unexpected place. Again, the Owner was really nice and really generous and we didn't even ask for it. Definitely...

I usually try to take a peek at the menu before going into a new restaurant. A lot of times I’ll know what I’ll be ordering long before I even sit down. A few dishes at Pho Fresh caught my eye. One of them was the Hanoi Style Grilled Pork Vermicelli Noodles or what is it usually known as in Vietnamese “Bun Cha”. This dish was made world-famous by the late Anthony Bourdain when he took Barack Obama to a small eatery in Hanoi to enjoy a bowl of noodles and some beer. If you’ve never had Bun Cha before than you’ve got to at least try it once in your life. For many who do, it won’t be their last time. You get some grilled pork patties and pork strips served in a sweet broth in which you dunk the vermicelli served alongside it and then slurp up. It’s a delight to eat.
The owner is super friendly, he took time to chat with basically all the customers. They are celebrating their third year in business so stop in by April 15 to enjoy some great food with a discount.

Read moreStopped in for lunch before a mid-afternoon ferry back to Vancouver Island, and we were so glad we did. We've eaten at many Vietnamese restaurants, and found Pho Fresh to be in the top tier, without a doubt.
We shared a shrimp summer roll to start, which was beautifully rolled (this matters!) and held together while eaten. A bit heavy on cabbage, but delicious overall. My wife had chicken pho, which was generously portioned and quite delicious. My pork banh mi sandwich was large, piping hot and perfectly prepared -- the bun was toasty but not stale, and the pickled carrot and daikon was just right to balance out the pork.
Only downer on the meal was a Vietnamese coffee pot that was dripping way too slow. By the time the water had passed through, the coffee was tepid. Still tasted good.
Although the bathrooms are admittedly in need of serious attention (repairs, cleaning, and daily upkeep), the main restaurant is nicely updated and very clean. Service was exceptional from start to finish, and the prices are totally reasonable....
