I was on my break from work and stopped by for a coffee, but what I witnessed was extremely disappointing. The manager at this Tim Hortons was yelling at a few high school students who were just sitting and eating. Two of them had Starbucks drinks, but all three had ordered food from Tim Hortons as well.
The manager went on a power trip, loudly insisting this was a "restaurant" and no outside drinks were allowed, which honestly seems absurd. Tim Hortons is a fast food place, not fine dining… and more importantly, the teens weren’t causing any problems. From what I’ve seen, students from the school are respectful and clean up after themselves.
There’s absolutely no reason to treat paying customers, especially MINORS, with that kind of hostility. If there’s a policy to enforce, it can be done respectfully! not through public shaming or intimidation. It honestly came off like the manager just wanted an excuse to assert control over these children or find problems when there weren’t any.
What’s even more frustrating is that a large portion of this location’s business clearly comes from the nearby high school students. The place is well-renovated (compared to other locations), has touchscreen ordering kiosks, and is always packed with students. It makes no sense to treat your main customers as pests.
I hope this location reconsiders how it handles situations like this in the future. You don’t build customer loyalty by berating the people who are actually supporting your business. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend local students to visit this location, it’s clear that you’re not welcome in their...
Read moreSlowest Tim's I ever been to. Throws away food early, wasteful. Food is good, it's Tim's but expect to wait for it. Was told this location is used to train new employees by a friend once. A lot of the local Timmie's are owned by the same micro-franchise, you can tell on their "we are hiring" signs but I forgot the name. If they are all managed by the same person, it's not impossible. Don't know if that's true though, but Champlain St can be such a busy location, doesn't seem like the smartest choice. I haven't been in a while, maybe things changed since. This is a review edit from a previously more angry one where I had witnessed early food throwing away which had frustrated me by its wastefulness.
Based on recent reviews, slow and ineffective seems to still be true. No hate against the staff, they don't put their team together and I've noticed the age range is kind of quite young to quite older than the average range with little balance in between. People responsible for hiring/scheduling/distribution of staff across different local stores should be the ones to blame. The efficiency issues at this store seems like they have been there for a long time (at least 2-3 years from my own experience) and the staff seems overwhelmed a lot. I blame the owners but can't deny that the experience just isn't what you'd normally...
Read moreMy husband and I LOVE Tim Horton's, however, we have never seen such an awful case of "hostile work environment" in all our lives. The manager Andrea, not only was rude to us, but openly treated her employees with an utmost lack of respect. They seemed to be afraid of her, when we asked if she was always like that, they looked over their shoulder before answering us. They clearly were worried about her response. Something needs to be done about how she treats her employees and the general public. I'm sorry if she was having a bad day or was "too hot" over the grill....you just don't treat the public or your employees this way!! She is in a Customer Service position and she should be taught lessons on general respect and kindness!! This all occurred at the Tim Hortons at 580 Champlain Street in Dieppe. Needless to say, we won't be going back to that one anytime soon. Shame on you...
