I am an avid fan of Swiss Chalet, I have been for years. I usually go to the Orillia location as they are extremely efficient, food is fresh, and the service is great. I decided to try the Gravenhurst location, it is a half Harveys and a half Swiss Chalet. This was the worst experience at any location I have ever had.
The line had about 8 people waiting to order, it was obvious right away that they were catering to the drive through and not the restaurant. Twenty minutes later we ordered, and waited for the food to come to the table. The table next to us was stacked up with plates of unfinished food, we figured they would be removed, which of course did not happen and as we left it was still there. Of course they brought the wrong orders, forgot the gravy,forgot the extra dressings, and the food was absolute garbage. Chicken was dry and tasteless, salad was dry and the fries were straight out of a sourced frozen bag, one that feeds the Harveys fans. Water all over the floors, the place ws a pigsty, and it really smelled so bad we had to leave half way through dinner. People that were outside in the picnic area were also complaining, and taking the food back for refunds. The woman at the register said they were short staffed and did apologize. This is NOT a Swiss Chalet restaurant, it just has the sign. This is a Harveys restaurant. The place is filthy, food left on tables, and messy. They should close it down and serve burgers. Read moreWe are so lucky that we can go out now to restaurants where we are appreciated and valued by the action of excellence in regards to the customer experience. We can go where people are treated with morals, ethics and integrity. This establishment and some of its employees treat people with great disrepect, they feel they can be rude or condescending and it is obvious that the owner operator allows and condones these types of behaviors for this unfortunately happens frequently and yet if you call for the manager or owner operator you will not receive anyone on the phone because as soon as they take the message they either, really don't take down the number or the owner operator never gets the message. Just so the readers know I live here and many people from these parts have tried to get resolves with no interest given from the owners . So If you like paying money to receive the worst treatment with the worst customer service then you should come to Swiss Chalet Gravenhurst. Also please note most of the good reviews on here are from friends of employees, managers, owners friends and family member's associated with Swiss Chalet, small small town, everyone knows however I want to spare people not mislead them, for I have morals, ethics and integrity.....
Read moreNo dine in. No signage that states no dine in. Got take away and tried to sit in the dine in because picnic tables outside were full and the manager yelled at me and my son. I asked what the difference was between sitting inside or outside with my take away bags and he couldn't answer me. Fries weren't cook well and my wings were cold. A lot of wasps and garbage outside in picnic area.
I suggest going towing House' in Bracebridge. At Wing House, you get take out but they accommodate you by letting you sit inside.
I will not be visiting swiss chalet/Harvey's in Gravenhurst again. No dine in. The manager yelled at my son and I. The patio was disgusting and full of wasps. I also witnessed other guests get their order messed up.
Is letting guests sit inside such a big deal?
