JJ Bean Coffee Roasters Dollarton Village 391 Dollarton Hwy, North Vancouver, BC V7G 1M9 Nestled in Dollarton Village, JJ Bean Coffee Roasters delivers a casual yet inviting coffeehouse experience. Known for its artisan coffee and freshly baked goods, this location offers a cozy retreat for those in search of a quick caffeine fix or a sweet treat. Food & Drink Mocha The mocha was somewhat underwhelming. While its creamy texture was pleasant, the coffee flavor lacked the depth and richness that one typically expects from a well-balanced mocha. For those who enjoy a lighter coffee profile, it may suffice, but for others seeking a more robust espresso-forward taste, it falls short. Rating: 5/10 Double Chocolate Brownie Cookie The double chocolate brownie cookie was a standout. Perfectly baked with a soft, chewy texture, it struck an excellent balance between sweetness and decadence. The rich chocolate flavor was indulgent without being overpowering, making it an excellent pairing with coffee. This dessert is a must-try for any chocolate lover. Rating: 8/10 Ambiance Despite its small size, the café offers a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The clean, well-maintained interior and thoughtfully arranged seating create an inviting space to relax or catch up with friends. While it doesn’t have an expansive layout, it compensates with a cozy charm that encourages you to linger. Rating: 8/10 Service The service at JJ Bean was exceptional. The staff were welcoming, personable, and attentive, striking a perfect balance between efficiency and friendliness. Their approachable demeanor added a personal touch to the visit, making the experience all the more enjoyable. Rating: 8/10 Price Pricing is fair and competitive, especially considering the quality of the baked goods. The portion size of the cookie, in particular, offers excellent value. While the mocha could have been better, the overall pricing aligns well with what one would expect from a café of this caliber. Verdict JJ Bean Coffee Roasters in Dollarton Village provides a charming coffee experience with its friendly service, cozy ambiance, and standout baked goods. While the mocha left something to be desired, the double chocolate brownie cookie more than made up for it. This location is worth a visit, whether you’re looking for a quick stop or a relaxed coffee break. I look forward to exploring more of their offerings in the future.

Was greeted in a high-pitch, annoyed tone "Hi there how are you? Can I get you something started?" As I was looking at the food case no where near the till. I was not in a rush and no one was behind me. It was really socially awkward and off putting. I decided to skip food and asked for a dry, extra foam Cappucino to stay. The barista made me a latte. I asked for more foam. They remade it without the extra or dry foam. This barista hadn't been trained to steam the milk properly. Hardly any noise was made to aerate the foam. As a former cafe supervisor, I already made a mental note they lost my business. To my horror, the annoying greeter sat beside me, apparently to interview a barista. They treated them completely condescending like "Do you KNOW ANYTHING about JJ bean? Well, let me tell you..." hardly the family company vibe according to the story. Among the interview questions were completely absurd assertions like "How many times have you baked at home recently?" The high pitch, annoying and demanding voice was consistent. This was one of the worst encounters I've ever had with a cafe manager. I sincerely hope JJ Bean has the grace to address the problems which seem to stem from one individual taking a million dollar view and making it a cringe-worthy experience I won't return to anytime soon. Photo: view out the window before the manager ruined the moment, in between ruined drinks.

The vibe here is really nice. It's located in a small cozy place, and the store has a raw wood feel to it. I've never had JJ Bean before, and I came in looking for a quick snack to enjoy by the beach. The maple pecan cookie was scrumptious. Soft cookie with hints of smoky maple and the crunch from the pecan in every bite are stunning. I would come here for the cookie alone. Service was quick and friendly. Again, I liked the atmosphere because of its natural feeling. Overall, this location is a really neat coffee place that has potential.
