Pronto Prêt À Manger — Restaurant in Dollard-des-Ormeaux

I HAVE to throw a big shout out to Pronto Prêt À Manger! We ordered 30 lunches from them for a memorial service luncheon this afternoon. They were so friendly and professional from start to finish (including them asking how the [ordering, quoting, etc.] process was for us). Everything was beautifully packaged, and everyone was so pleasantly surprised at how fresh and delicious the meal was! We ordered the chicken cutlet sandwiches and the bread was the perfect texture and nice taste. The chicken was juicy and cooked perfectly. The big wow for all were the creative other components (like picked carrots and fennel, spicy mayo, etc.) that elevated this sandwich and such a pleasant surprise. I’m not sure what’s in their quinoa salad, and I typically enjoy salads like these, but, again, their creative touches and fresh herbs take it to the next level....you eat every morsel. You know how you get a little side of fruit salad at these type of luncheons and they’re often “meh” and too juicy or dry fruit? Nope! It was fresh, delicious and like summer in a cup...again with a hint of something special. Was it fresh mint? Their bombolonis (we got half stuffed with custard and half stuffed with Nutella) are always a lovely treat....and they don’t sit like lead like other donuty treats at places. I was beyond impressed with the food and also the service.

Food: my sister had Pronto cater for her wedding. She had hors d’oeuvres during “cocktail hour” and the main meal was buffet style. The amount of positive feedback we got on the food was overwhelming (and this from an old fashioned Italian crowd ... hard to please when it comes to food). The hors d’oeuvres looked beautiful, like in a magazine. The buffet was delicious, the food was warm, and the portions were generous.

Service: from the moment we walked in to speak to the owners about the wedding, they were nothing but kind, accommodating, and professional. At the wedding, they were incredible with our guests, and we didn’t have to lift a finger. They were proactive and took care of “issues” before we even had a chance to ask (they noticed we were low on ice, and they went to get some for us!!! They noticed we didn’t have garbage outside, so they brought one out!!) They also exuded a sense of calm. Like they had things completely under control.

I came here due to reviews and all the posting about it on an online Facebook group and was extremely disappointed by the service and the appearance of the food. On their Facebook group the pictures of the sandwiches are over stuffed with meat and toppings and when you get in the store the sandwiches look like it’s mostly bread and for the price of $10 I walked out. The other day my favourite sandwich place was closed so I decided to try it here. I got The famous Porchetta sandwich which if you look at their Facebook picture , the meat is a huge portion. Basically there was no meat in my sandwich it was 90% bread and the service for having only two people in the store was extremely slow and if you look up the definition of Porchetta is a savory, fatty, and moist boneless pork roast ,their sandwich had no taste at all and was extremely dry and disappointing.
