St-Viateur Bagel & Café DDO offers a truly authentic Montreal bagel experience. Walking in early morning, you're greeted by the irresistible aroma of freshly baked bagels, still warm from the wood-fired oven.
What We Loved:
Freshness: The bagels here are the real deal. Chewy on the inside, perfectly crisp on the outside, with that signature hint of sweetness. They're best enjoyed right out of the oven, and St-Viateur delivers on that front. Variety: Beyond the classic poppy and sesame, they offer a delightful range of flavors. Everything from all-dressed to rosemary and sea salt, there's something to satisfy every bagel craving. Cream Cheese: Their cream cheese selection is equally impressive, with flavors like scallion and herb complementing the bagels beautifully. Coffee: A perfect pairing for your bagel, their coffee is rich and flavorful, providing that essential morning pick-me-up. Ambiance: The café has a cozy and inviting atmosphere. It's a great spot to relax with a newspaper and a warm bagel, or catch up with friends. Points to Consider:
Popularity: St-Viateur is a popular spot, especially on weekends. Be prepared for a potential wait, but trust us, it's worth it. Parking: Parking can be a bit limited in the area, so plan accordingly. Overall:
St-Viateur Bagel & Café DDO is a must-visit for bagel lovers in the West Island. Their commitment to quality and freshness shines through in every bite. Whether you're a Montreal native or just visiting, a morning at St-Viateur is a delicious way to...
Read moreWent here on Christmas Eve. Service was amazing. The two ladies that took my order were great at making recommendations. All staff here were very warm and welcoming. Tried the salmon bagel as this is what a friend had recommended. Also tried the jaws bagel which basically has a tuna filling. Enjoyed our breakfast. Really cool seeing the bagels getting made and really cool that there is a separate sections to place your order depending on your needs. Coffee was great. Would come here again for the coffee. It’s our first time in Montreal coming from London. If you’re a fellow Brit reading this, I’d recommend coming here if you’re missing the English high street. Coffee is on par to cafe Nero. The tuna bagel is like a Greg’s tuna baguette. The salmon one is similar to what we get at home. The bagels are crispy unlike the soft dense ones we are use to In London. Glad to have visited was comparatively a bit expensive. Service...
Read moreWhat happened??? I went on 05/28/2022 and the girl who attended was very nice. However, she got my order all wrong. I ordered 2 breakfast bagels and 1 cheese cream. Cheese cream order not a problem (simple enough). One breakfast order was egg/ham/ pesto. The other one all dressed. She never asked me ham or bacon she never asked pesto or mayo. She put mayo and bacon on both. Then she forgot to give my coffees which I had already paid for. Once all aas eaten I realized she gave me a small coffee when I had paid for the large. In addition, the egg is supposedly cooked as an omelet. It says so on the menu. This was no omelet but rather turnover egg. Very disappointed at the service and poor level of attention given by the staff. Please educate/coach the staff to be a little serviceable especially for the price we are now paying. I'll give it another try and unfortunately if the same happens you will...
