When you order two old fashion skillet with three meats and two scrambled eggs on each, you expect exactly that, instead we received a dried up skillet with maybe half of an egg, almost no cheese, hardly any meats, and the little meats we had was dried-up. Let’s not forget the potatoes which tasted as if they had been cooked a couple of days prior. And the piece de resistance was the amount of onions they added in the skillet. There were enough onions to be a meal all on their own. They used all the cheapest ingredients. In my opinion when a restaurant adds so many onions to a meal it’s because they don’t know how to cook.
This is the first time since almost ten years of going to Ben & Florentine restaurants that we’ve been so disappointed. We’ve been to this precise restaurant many times, and we’ve noticed since the 2022 that the portions have decreased while the prices have increased. But still we continued going there because the food was delicious, not this last time though, it was very disgusting to say the least. If your restaurant’s goal is to lose clients, than, you’re well on your way.
Thanks for wasting our money and time, maybe two customers lost might not be a problem for you guys, but if we're unhappy with your food, others will...

First, let me say that this was one of our absolutel favorite places on our visit. The portion sizes were very generous and the food was impeccable! I have travel all over the US, and I have never had such a wonderful breakfast! My Mother-in-Law had the crepes and it came with so much food, she couldn't eat it all. I had the eggs benedict and they were cooked to perfection. I say this, because I have been to up-scale resturaunts where they are overcooked. The hollandaise was so the most butttery and tastiest. We were in NYC and I thought they were good, but these were just wonderful. Most dishes come with potatoes and fruit. I absolutely love breakfasts that include fruit, and it was very good fruit as well. Our server was very patient, as we spoke little French, and even provided an English menu for My Mother-in-Law. Service was quick and friendly and the food was just wonderful. I can not reccomend Ben & Florentine enough. I suggested it to a friend who was going to visit and they loved it as well! Lors de ma visite au restaurant Ben et Florentie, le 27 juillet 2024, à Donnacona, j'ai été accueilli avec un sourire chaleureux dans les 30 secondes suivant mon arrivée, ce qui a mis immédiatement en confiance. La jeune serveuse Charline a été courtoise tout au long de mon repas, ce qui a contribué à une impression positive.
J'ai opté pour l'option "L'authentique" au menu, avec un supplément pour des saucisses à 3,95$. Malheureusement, c'est là que les choses ont pris une tournure décevante. La première saucisse que j'ai goûtée était froide, et la deuxième était également froide et avait un arrière-goût désagréable. La troisième saucisse est restée intacte sur l'assiette, car je n'ai pas osé y goûter. De plus, la tomate servie avait un goût amer, ce qui a encore ajouté à ma déception.
Le creton, bien qu'apparentement frais, laissait un arrière-goût de frigidaire, et la compote de pommes était tout simplement inmangeable. En revanche, les pommes de terre ainsi que le café étaient bien chauds, ce qui a été un point positif.
Le gérant est venu me voir pour s'enquérir de mon avis sur le plat. Il a expliqué qu'ils avaient servi 300 personnes ce matin et que personne d'autre n'avait fait de remarque. La présentation de l'assiette était belle, mais la saveur et le goût n'étaient pas à la hauteur des attentes.
Le gérant m'a demandé si je reviendrais, et j'ai répondu que cela prendrait probablement du temps. Bien qu'il se soit excusé pour le plat, le fait que les plats aient été froids et manquaient de saveur ne me pousse pas à envisager un retour immédiat.
En conclusion, malgré un accueil chaleureux et un service courtois, les problèmes rencontrés avec la température et la qualité des plats ont considérablement affecté mon expérience. J'espère que le restaurant prendra ces commentaires en compte pour améliorer la qualité de ses offres...
