Jinju Sushi (Newmarket/Holland Landing) — Restaurant in East Gwillimbury

I was looking for a Sushi place to have dinner. I like visiting places that have +4.5 star reviews that I've never been to before. This sushi place is a little out of the way and Google Maps leads you into the wrong side of the strip, but it's easy to figure out. I walked in with my date and we were the only people there. Not a great first sign but I've been to weirder places.

It's not all you can eat (AYCE), but hot diggity does the sushi and appetizers get you going. Wakame and sunomono were great. We ended up getting Green tea, a small party tray that includes sushi, sashimi and some rolls that came out on a boat. The BBQ Eel was top notch and easily my favorite piece. additionally, I got some bulgogi. The bulgogi was excellent and I honestly wasn't expecting that to be so good.

The service was fantastic because we were the only two people there late Saturday. I dropped a chopstick and immediately had another at my table before I could blink. The owners were incredibly polite and I'll be visiting this place again...

The sushi, sashimi, all the roles, wakami salad, kimchi salad and edamame was delicious!!! We even got free spring rolls and they were soo soo soo good!! Everything was so good and we are so pleased to have found a new sushi place! We ordered a lot of food about $130 worth.

The only thing I didn’t like and why I will not give this place a 5 star was that when I ordered the food the gentleman on the other end was too nosy. He asked me “how many people are eating?” I said “two” he proceeded to tell me that “that’s alot of food for two people is that ok?”

No offence but please mind your own business. You don’t know whether we ate today, or whether we are saving some for tomorrow or anything about us. So please stay out of peoples personal business. Just make our food and be happy that you have customers instead of...

Tried this place for the first time today and everything was so delicious and fresh!

There were 3 of us and we ordered a small sashimi tray, a small Maki tray, 1 crazy boy roll and the negi Hamachi roll. The sashimi tray had such a great variety of salmon, tuna and tilapia which were all so fresh and buttery! The Maki tray had a great selection of dynamite, spicy salmon and avocado Cucumber Maki. All the Maki was made with purple rice and they were a decent size too. Both the crazy boy roll and the negi Hamachi roll are absolutely to die for!! The yellow fin tuna in the Hamachi roll is so fresh, soft and so, so delicious. An absolute must try!! We definitely had to order a second round of this roll.
