I've been going to this place for years and decide to do a dinner date there. Food seemed okay my date said if she eats food that's s gone bad she gets a stiffness in her jaw. I thought maybe she was overly sensitive and it was nothing to worry about till I got home and both of us were feeling sick and then the constant trips to the washroom began. Yeah full food poisoning. The kicker was when I called to tell them what happen that not just one of us but both of us were sick. The waitress just gave me some loud back answers like "everyone eat this food" like I'm a crazy person. I ain't looking for a free meal in fact I'll never eat there again. Mostly due to how they were not concerned like I'm looking for something. Definitely not concerned for the public. Only after I explained several times I said something is bad in your food line and you need to look into it. She said thanks and that was it. I have gone to this place for years but I don't give a place the chance to give me food poisoning twice. If their attitude was more of concern then trying to deflect blame I'd care more to show they were considerate to our situation. But they weren't and for that they get 1 star and I don't feel bad for doing so. Spend your money here at...
Read moreI've been coming to India Garden for years. After Rangit sold it, it's been a disappointment. Thought I'd keep supporting them anyway. My latest experience, not more than two weeks ago, has me not wanting to go back ever again. I called in an order for my usual, fish pakora, meat samosas, aloo gobi and buttered chicken. I arrived, and the server read back my order. I confirmed I paid and left. I drove home, and the server gave me the wrong order (even after she read it back to me). I called and she said sorry, I said I expect a refund, she said ok. I got there, and she said she couldn't refund because the owner wasn't there. She said she would have the owner contact me. I gave her my card and left. I haven't heard from the restaurant or the owner. I feel like I got ripped off. It's gonna take a lot for me to go back. I think the previous owner would be appalled.. UPDATE: 05/21/2025. The owner, Rocky, reached out to me and personally took responsibility for the server's mistake. He assured me that he would provide extra training for his staff, and delivered a whole new order today, himself. It's all about the recovery, and Rocky handled it professionally. I appreciate the care and attention he took to make it right....
Read moreI visited India Garden Restaurant for an event with the University where the food service was buffet-style. I am not entirely sure if they only offer buffet service, but my review only reflects that service offering.
The food, overall, is good. I tried small amounts of most dishes and none of them stuck out to me as being particularly amazing, but there were no bad dishes aside from my own personal taste preferences of types of food I simply don't like. You won't likely visit this restaurant and tell yourself that a certain dish was the best of that kind you've had at any restaurant, but you will enjoy it, serving sizes are more than adequate, and the price for the buffet seemed fair to me.
It's definitely worth visiting if you're on the east side of the city, or drive a little further for Little India for a similar, albeit more authentic indian experience.
Ultimately, you won't be disappointed with this restaurant and they serve great food and the staff are...
