Swiss Chalet — Restaurant in Elliot Lake

We were in the area house hunting. Took kids there for lunch. Upon walking in the place was empty. No customers, no staff. Anywhere. After waiting several minutes we had to go to the back to the kitchen and find a staff to help us. A kitchen staff came out and could not find the waitress anywhere. He told us to pick a spot while he finds her. She was outside at the food truck. She finally came in and took the kids order as we were still waiting on one adult to arrive. Once the kids orders were in she went back out to the food truck. We needed assistance while she was gone but took care of it ourselves and got my son a new colouring page. She eventually came back and Adults ordered chicken, ribs and salads. Ribs were dry and not good. Chicken was very very small and tough. My daughter had the kids chicken and hers was the same. We Didn’t eat much of it. Would have told the waitress but after dropping off the food we didn’t see her again until kids were ready for their ice cream and to get out of there. She never came and checked on us until well after we would have been done eating. We were not about to wait on her to bring us better food. Didn’t take any of the left overs. One of the worst locations we have ever been to. I really should not have left a tip. 3 adult meals, 2 kids meals and pops was over $100. We will not be returning here once we move. So we went here for a date my fiancée and I and we ordered two burgers ,two poutines,some spring rolls and a garlic bread loaf . Everything except the poutines was cooked the fries from the poutine were so undercooked and disgusting I was going to the bathroom and puking we got home and my fiancée has food poisoning . When we approached the waitress about this she was friendly and understanding and did her best to fix the issue and our issue is not with the waitress but with the manager as when the waitress came back she told us all she would be able to do is offer us a free desert but we still had to pay for the uncooked poutines which was not fair when I approached the manager who was next door at their food truck she didn’t seem to care if anyone got sick or the fact that the food was not cooked she basically blew our concerns off and was actually quite rude so we will not be going back there and it’s unfortunate because we used to actually love their poutines and their food but not going to go back to a place where my concerns are...

I have had meals in the restaurant, picked-up or delivered for two people to even large groups. Service and delivery times are quick with friendly helpful staff. The food has always been excellent with juicy chicken and tasty appetizers. One time our delivery order was short a poutine as they had substituted plain chips but when I called staff they were quick to offer a credit. The quarter chicken white meat is such a large portion that I have enough leftover for lunch the next day. I really like the large crispy spring rolls. Salads are always plentiful and fresh. I find the soup a bit salty/spicy for my taste but I don't use salt when cooking. The wraps and sandwishes are always good using fresh ingredients. Oh yeah and the coconut cream pie is a really nice treat! All-in-all I am quite satisfied with dining on the food from Swiss Chalet, Elliot Lake and the mailed coupons are always nice to keep dining-out costs down. Kudos to the owners and staff for a...
