Felt very rushed at a time when the restaurant was 80% empty. Our waitress was visibly annoyed when we asked for coffee or drink refills. Very very bland tasteless food slopped into a plate and bowl. My burger had a very odd tasting green sauce on it, I asked what it was because there is no mention of it on the menu, our waitress said it was a "signature avocado spread" Um..okay avocado makes me sick and again it WASN'T MENTIONED ON THE MENU. Waitress told me to scrape it off. Fortunately it was smeared between some lettuce and the bottom bun, so I removed that, I cut into my now "open-faced" burger and it wasn't cooked, still cold to the touch in the middle. I ate my fries while waiting for our waitress. My friend got chicken poutine and the gravy was like gelatin, there were large clumps throughout the "gravy" and her food was burn yourself hot in some spots and ice cold in other spots. Obviously it was premade and then microwaved. When we finally got the attention of our waitress and told her my burger wasn't cooked, and my friends "chicken poutine" was lumpy, Jello consistent gravy and ice cold in spots; she looked at me and suggested I get my uncooked burger in a container to take home, and told my friend if she wanted her food hotter she could put it in the microwave to "warm it up". In our small party of 3, none of us finished our meal, more that 3/4 of each plate was left on the plate, we waited... and waited for our waitress in a restaurant that was around 8% occupied. When we asked yet again for a manager the waitress ignored out request; and instead we were given our bill. We left the exact amount of the bill in cash; and obviously but understandably left no tip at all. Wrote our names, a contact number on the back of the bill asking for a manager to please make contact. Just about 7 weeks later and still no word, contact or call from a manager. This kind of sub par kind of "service and TOTAL LACK OF SERVICE WAS, IS, AND SHOULD BE EXPECTED FROM ANY IRVING RESTAURANT, GAS STATION AND EVEN AT ANY GIVEN IRVING OWNED OR OPERATED BUSINESS INCLUDING OFFICE OF IRVING. We went into the store section of the gas station, bought some fruit, 2 pastries and got better tasting coffee from the carafe in the gas station. That purchase should not have been necessary. But it tasted 100% better than the slop we were given in the "restaurant". Still no word from a manager in the restaurant.

Read moreAbsolute garbage. Used to love going to the Irving big stop. As so many people here have said, what on earth has happened. I'm celiac so I am used to paying extra and sometimes smaller portions, but this was pathetic. The gluten free menu is incredibly small, and it's not just the menu that's small. I had the clubhouse sandwich, gluten free. The food portions were incredibly small. 2 tiny pieces of bread, and way less chicken, bacon and cheese. It felt like I was eating a lunchable but paying $24 for it instead. Even the waitress told us it was pathetic and doesn't even come with the 3 pieces of bread the usual one does. Of course this after we got the bill, I wasn't forewarned. I was charged $3.50 more for the gluten free bread and another $2 for gluten free gravy. And I'm pretty sure the lose of chicken and bacon more than makes up for the cost of gluten free bread. Originally it came with the baked fries, but I asked to have the fried ones instead. Some cross contamination doesn't bother me. So the baked ones came out and I had said I asked for the fried ones, so the waitress took the baked ones back and the portion of fried ones was incredibly small as well. One of the worst meals I have ever had in any restaurant, and definitely THE worst one for a big stop. But wait... There's more!!! My wife had the pan friend haddock. She is not celiac. We saw after we ate, that someone on here had posted that the pan fried haddock was terrible and super small. The reply was that they would talk to their distributor. They certainly did not. It was two very small pieces of fish, that looked as if they had come from a fish stick box. I will say that my daughter did enjoy her dinner, the baked Mac and cheese. Honestly we were really looking forward to eating at the big stop since it has been so long. It was just the worst. Read moreWell was in couple days ago to eat with family food was good portions service was okay, have been there half a dozen times before and a few of the servers are gone. They were great!!! was talking to one of the servers can't recall the name asked if they worked there anymore but she said no one girl Tamara who served me before I guess was told to choose where she wanted to work because she wasn't getting enough hours there so she chose to leave. Another I recall she was there for awhile even in the old building think her name was Sherrie she left as a full time worker that wasn't getting all her hours because part time and new staff were getting them all. Seems to me like a management problem if you ask me and somewhat unfair and I guess they let go another girl Kyla to for customer complaints. If you ask me Irving there are people that complain everyday can't please everyone can you like seriously come on some people complain just to get a free meal sometimes, just because they think customer is always right well doesn't always go like that. Some people walk in, in a bad mood and the servers try to bring them around I'm sure but with some people they just want to be down right rude and complain about everything. Servers do there job to serve them but some people you just can't satisfy, then they complain about the littlest things and the staff get looked at for doing wrong when really there just doing there job and that's to serve.
