When my girlfriend and I arrived, about 6pm July 29th, it took 20 minutes before we even got a glass of water. I tried to make eye contact with several waiters as they kept passing by our table, they avoided making eye contact with me like the plaque. Finally a heavier set, blonde hair, brunette lady came over and apologized for the wait. She claimed she thought we’ve already been waited on, which was untrue as we didn’t even have glasses of water at this point.
When we were finally served, we had ordered the the sticky ribs to start and 2 BBQ smokehouse burgers. The ribs were amazing although only 5 pieces for 16$ seemed a little steep. The burger claimed to come with a beef and pork patty, however it only came with a pork patty, I was disappointed about this but considering we’ve been there about an hour at this point, and I was very hungry, I just ate it. To my delight, it was quite scrumptious! Sauce was amazing but for 25$ a slap in the face. Our bill was 70$ for 5 ribs, 2 pork burgers and two small servings of sweet potato fries. Still my lovely generous girlfriend wanted to leave a 10$ tip
Overall, our experience was a solid 2/5, the only redeeming factor being the food. Hats off to the chef. Wait staff taught me what it felt like to be invisible that day. I didn’t leave this review for the subpar service, bad prices or for the above average food. I left it because of how disrespected I felt in such...
Read moreLast night, we ate at Exit 153. It was our first time. It is beautiful and a nice addition to our River Valley.
We enjoyed our family night but I do feel the need to address a couple of issues with our meal.
The main issue for me was my steak. Without sounding too rude, it was definitely one of the worse steaks I have eaten in a long time. I asked for it medium and it was well done and very tough. It was quite thin so that could be a reason why it was well done - not sure? On top of that, I am not even sure if it was a striploin. If it was, it was very poor quality. Maybe I just chose the wrong thing from the menu?? Either way, I should have said something. It definitely was not what I expected and certainly not worth $29.
My son ordered the Mac n Cheese. He liked it but the ham was missing from the dish. He was half done eating it before he said anything. We did tell the server so that she could inform the kitchen. We thought that maybe you had to ask for the ham but we looked on the menu and the ham should have been included.
My husband enjoyed his burger and my daughter enjoyed her pulled pork. We also had dessert, drinks and thoroughly enjoyed that.
Forgetting the ham on my son’s dish was a mistake but serving a steak for $29 like the one I received last night was definitely something I should...
Read moreEdited to 3-stars to give credit to the staff’s great attitude towards my comments, and hope my next visit change bring us some changes.
We have always enjoyed hotel breakfast and had some high hopes for this one as well, seeing its chic atmosphere and the clean staff uniforms, boy oh boy aren’t we wrong!
The waiting line is 15 mins and when we finally saw a waitress she just sit us in a uncleaned table with no utensils or anything, didn’t ask if we need water and just took off!
45 minutes, 45 minutes later, we are still left with no utensils or drink or order! The waitress just treat us like air throughout the 45 minutes and its not until I finally stand up and went to the waitress asking what the heck is going on, they told me there has been a “miscommunication”!
Then the miscommunication continues even after my protest, still no utensils and even after she took our order then another 20 minute wait for the food. It’s breakfast with eggs and toasts, not exactly a 9 course dinner!
This breakfast along set us behind our schedule by 1 whole hour with grumpy kid and wife, and no appetite at all.
I wouldn’t recommend anyone this restaurant nor encourage tipping...
