August 2025 Update As good as ever! The best Chinese food to be found... better than any in Western New York... from Buffalo to Utica and beyond. Yes, its in Fort Erie, Ontario Canada; right on the Niagara River with the Peace Bridge in sight. Yes, our Canadian friends to the north. When we eat inside, we always take more to go home. It reheats very well. We order individual dishes and share them. The mushroom fried rice, mixed vegetables with almonds, lemon chicken and Dai Dop Voi are some of our favorites. Everything is great! We wish the outdoor patio was open more often. It was 75 degrees F today, but they told us it was too cold to open it. Please open it on 70 F+ days. Open late too. Highly recommended!

The best chinese food anywhere. It beats chinese food in Buffalo, Rochester, New York, and many other cities. Very good, fast service. Dine in and take out is great. The patio on the Niagara River is really nice... we wish it were open more, though... it is beautiful to sit outside along the river on a nice day. Mushroom fried rice, mixed vegetables with almonds, sweet and sour chicken are outstanding. Restrooms upstairs could use some closer attention for cleaning (use chlorine bleach and water to mop the floor and get rid of the odor in the mens room), and they are in desperate need of remodeling... they are beat up. The restaurant needs to improve their food safety, judging from health inspection reports posted online. It's getting a little pricey here. Highly...

So disappointed. I have lived in Fort Erie for 7 years and this has always been one of my families "go to's" ordered every few months since 2019...every year its like its gone down hill more and more while prices go up. The food quality is getting very subpar, specifically meats and chicken which cost the most... we tried in service a month ago for my Grandmothers birthday.

As other comments stated the waitress was very pushy, restaurant was empty but when we said we werent ready to order not once, not twice, but three times she stood there with the most judgemental look and made us feel rushed. The only time we enjoyed our outting was when a male worker offered my children a candy and was super friendly.

From moment we arrived to moment we left it was disappointment for the most part. Icing on the cake, when going to pay we encountered an issue with tip on debit, my family went to discuss it as we intended to tip and before we could even pull out the cash in pocket, our waitress expressed how no tip was included and that we had paid tax and no tip and had to pay it. Absolutely insane.

After that we will NEVER be back. I tip when its deserved, even after the less than average food and rude service from the waitress the fact they have the audacity to act like a tip was owed as we are pulling it owe when its not even deserved....

My family has ordered food here many times. The food always delicious and fresh. Unfortunately the last 3 times we have ordered it has been awful. We have received horrible tasting, reheated and old tasting food 3 times in a row. We had a chicken dish that tasted like the plastic container it was served in (im assuming reheated in the container) spring rolls, egg rolls and chicken balls that were cold and hard but had that look and taste like they were cooked some time ago. The first 2 times i thought it was a fluke but now after 3 times in a row I'm just offended. I am disappointed that they think its acceptable to serve food like this. You know what your doing when something is reheated or you serve someone food that has been sitting around for a while. Owners seem like very nice people and I would want to know if my customers were having these experiences. Update June 2022- gave them another chance. Another poor experience. Ordered takeout on a Thursday night. The rice was so greasy it left a puddle in the bottom of of the try. Totally inedible. Beef and veggies were 90% onion and celery. Barley any beef. Still friendly service but how do you knowingly give customers such poor food. Will not...

Rarely would I give a 5 star review but Happy Jacks in Fort Erie deserves it. Its reputation preceded it so I really needed to try it. My brother and I went down there and were greeted by Alvin and his staff and given a table. The service and attention to detail was unparalleled by any other restaurant I've ever been in. Wonton soup as a starter, perfect. Egg rolls with house made hot mustard (extremely hot, like horseradish not for the faint of heart) and a house made plum sauce, both were excellent. They even make their crispy wontons that you put into the soup which was a really nice touch! Our main meal was exceptional. Alvin suggested, and then brought us the Sizzling Pork, which any restaurant would be proud (if they had it) to consider a signature dish. The staff is so attentive and sincere... an absolute dining experience. We thank you again Alvin and his brother for a great night!

We ate dinner at Happy Jack’s last night as part of a tour bus group. Various platters of Chinese dishes were served family style to each long table of about 10-12 people. The dishes included 2 platters each of: noodles, fried rice, beef & broccoli, orange chicken, tempura shrimp, chicken & broccoli, bean sprouts & vegetables, chicken/pork/shrimp &.vegetables, hot tea, water, and fortune cookies. There was plenty of food. Some of the platters still had food left on them. I do wish at least one of the dishes would have been a spicy dish, such as kung Pao chicken. The dining room consisted of long tables.
