My boyfriend and I went to the Brewhouse for a meal after winning a $50 giftcard at a Fort McMurray golf tournament. We sat on the patio and the meal was wonderful. We were actually very happy with the look of the new menu and were prepared to go and support CBH Fort McMurray when we decide to eat out. Unfortunately when it came time to pay, the server told us the giftcard didn't work. She continually asked us if we were "sure" that there was money on it. That was not an appropriate way to approach the situation. I read the back of the giftcard and told her it said that they are able to check the balance of the card, but she didn't know how to. She tried another machine to take the payment, but it was clear she didn't know how to use the card. My boyfriend didn't want to argue, so he paid by credit card instead. After paying, we went to speak to the manager to check the balance and within seconds she was able to tell us there was $50 on the card. Very annoying. She said she was sorry but that there was nothing she could do because we had already paid. We went out for a nice free lunch on a giftcard but instead ended up paying out of pocket and leaving frustrated. What a disappointing end to a great meal. CBH Gift Cards are meant to be used at ALL CBH locations. Please train your servers so they know how to process this...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. They advertised a mothers day brunch so my family and I, about 8 of us, came in shortly after 11 and we probably had our order taken by 1130. Then began the wait. 2 and a half hours in total. The waitress came by a few times in the next two hours to tell us our order was next and that we would get our food soon and that she would go check for us, etc. Each time she did this, afterwards she would dissapear for longer and longer periods of time. We were never rude as we know it was probably a problem with the kitchen and not her, but still I would say the service was far from exceptional. Eventually ...after about two hours or just under, HALF our table got their food. It was lukewarm at best, undercooked and just bad. And the kids meal still hadnt come (grilled cheese. Literally grilled cheese) the rest of us waited another half hour before we eventually just all left. The waitress hadn't been seen ANYWHERE since the first half of our table had been served. We've all been there before where it was literally two to three times as busy and had no issues like this, so obviously it wasnt an issue of just being busy. This was ridiculous. Will definitely not...
Read moreVery bad experience. Very rude server. Much worse the manager. We were asked to show an I.D. twice. The first time they served us food and the poutine we ordered was cold, the gravy all the way to the fries. We didn’t complain about that and just tried to understand. After around 30 mins, we had to remind the server for the wings that we ordered, which were somehow and magically put on hold. We were told to wait 8-15 minutes for the wings! We work in a kitchen as well, and we all know that it doesn’t take THAT long to cook one plate of boneless wings. Alas! It was served cold. After that we tried to ask about what happened and why it took 1 hour for the APPETIZER to be served, and instead of answering us properly, we apparently got the attention of the manager, and the server even tried to twist the story and put the blame on us. The manager was very, very rude. The way she approached us was not how a manager was supposed to act. She raised her voice at us and even asked, “So, what do you want us to do? Huh?” in a very condescending tone. I don’t know if we were racially profiled (we are all Filipino, ages 21-18) or were discriminated against, but it sure felt like it. I do not...
