It isn't often that I leave a restaurant and say to myself that I loved everything about it. I typically think first about the food I'm craving when selecting a restaurant without giving much thought to the other essential components that make up a delightful experience. From the moment I enter Spicer’s, I am made to feel that I belong there. Staff are quick to welcome with smiles on their faces, offering a variety of seating choices. Suddenly I’m seated and welcomed at the table by my server for a drink request. I’ve always been impressed by the entire staff at the restaurant. Throughout the dinner, we had contact with several employees delivering drinks, food, checking on our service or just offering a smile and a quick chat. I must give a shoutout to our favorite server – Magdalene. If someone told me that I could only have one more trip to one more restaurant, my wife and I would pick an evening at Spicer’s with Magdalene taking our order! Recently, during one of our visits, I made a random comment to Magdalene about the music playing in the background. Baby Boomers such as myself aren’t often treated to a selection of music that contains selections that go that far back. As a fan of the Beatles, I asked if there was anything they could dig up from the Fab Four. Moments later, a young man and Spicer family member appeared at our table and announced that he had switched over to his personal Beatles playlist! Nirvana! Nobody does that! As an aside, when we arrived last night, by either coincidence or Karma, “Come Together” by the Beatles was playing in the background. I thought to myself “What a fitting theme for an enjoyable time at this gem of a restaurant!” Since nothing is perfect, I should probably find something to suggest. Okay, here goes. The hot wings could be a little hotter! That’s all I’ve got! “Come Together at...
Read moreWhat garbage did we experience? We went to this restaurant as a first experience, my girl and I, we walked in, was greeted by the hostess, she was alright, put us right at the water, a 2 seat table, came quickly with the water. Now this was just supposed to be a visit to the island, have a drink and eat some food. Not sit there for 30 minutes with our water while 2 other groups came in after us and got served before us. 2 other tables got their drinks and orders yet while sitting for 30 minutes, not a waiter or waitress came. As a first impression, I would not go here. We ended up leaving and walking across the street to the W's. That was definitely a win since we had a table, got 2 drinks and ordered our food. So to say the least. Spicers made us miss our ferry home based on poor customer...

The food was absolutely delicious, and the Caesars were some of the best we’ve ever had—perfectly made and full of flavour! It’s clear that a lot of care goes into every detail, and the entire atmosphere made for a really special outing for all of us.
