I've eaten enough poutines by now to know what I'm talking about. Want to test to see why my review is valid? First of all when you buy the poutine you don't get to see what's going on in the kitchen. Normally that would not be a big deal but in this case if I saw how they were preparing the potatoes I'd say they're likely not using fresh potatoes. And if they are, they're screwing up the process somehow! The fries aren't even greasy! And I know that sounds good but that means they're not using freshly cut potatoes cut on-site or they're not deep fried...the result is a product that doesn't reheat well and doesn't satisfy when fresh...see for yourself. The poutine only has three ingredients so if one isn't good then you're done for. Arguably the most important is the fry as this is the most used part of the meal. Anyway, there are better options out there especially for the price. Maybe I will try a small again later and see if it improves and change my rating but for now I'm very disappointed with...

Cheese curds were fresh, room temp, and squeaky. Every square inch of the top is covered in gravy. They give you large packets of ketchup and a lot of napkins. Prices were great for the portion size.
The place was very busy on a Wednesday afternoon. All locals enjoying great food. One local passer by saw my family enjoying the poutine and she commented "Ooooh Le GaGa c'est bon, oui!" You could tell this place was loved by the neighbourhood...

We ordered the "steak" poutine which was just poutine with ground beef, and the smoked meat poutine, all of which were $13 each.
Before we talk about the meat, let's discuss the main components of a poutine: the fries, gravy, and squeaky curds. All of them were executed perfectly -- I haven't had better.
To be honest, the ground beef one was pretty bland. Luckily they had salt and pepper at the dining tables but that didn't really save it. The smoked meat, however, was GODLY. Such an amazing combination with the poutine and I'd highly recommend it.
Would come back again and again for that smoked...
