Le 1973 resto bar loft — Restaurant in Gatineau

I recently visited a restaurant that left me feeling underwhelmed again. Despite having a captive audience, the menu lacked variety and flavor. I ordered a wood oven-baked pizza, but it tasted almost industrially produced and lacked the distinct taste of being freshly baked. Similarly, the fish dish looked like it had been cooked multiple times, as evidenced by its color and texture.

This wasn't my first time at the restaurant, as I had given it a second try, hoping for an improved experience. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed, and I'm not sure if I would want to give it a third chance. The overall ambiance of the place felt sad and empty, which was disappointing since the location could definitely use a quality restaurant.

However, the service was one redeeming quality of the restaurant. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and efficient. Their attentiveness made up for the lackluster food and atmosphere.

Overall, my experience at the restaurant was not the best, but I'm hopeful that it was just an off day. I do hope that they can improve their menu and ambiance, as the location could really use a...

Arrived on time for a 5:30pm reservation on an Olympiques game day and was seated promptly. Their game day menu is overpriced for the food you get. $26 for fish and chips but one fillet, can get 2 for cheaper at other restaurants. Pizza isn’t pizza - it’s sauce on flatbread (learned the hard way)

Took 30min for our drinks to arrive and 45+ minutes after ordering for our food to arrive. We were only told as our food arrived there was shortages in the kitchen. Ordered the Pizza an Pepe and it was an premade flatbread with sauce and cheese which takes all of 10min to prepare. It’s a shame seeing someone who was seated after you get their food before you.

All we were offered in compensation was a free dessert which I feared would take another 30 minutes to arrive to us if we accepted. Server was nice but overall not communicative enough to us about what was going on and food nowhere near the level it should be at a restaurant tied to a sports facility. Missed the beginning of the game despite being a half capacity crowd.

Overall, friendly staff but lousy communication and cheaply made food priced...

Decent atmosphere. Service could be better, waited 30 min just to get the receipt. Food... Was sad to see. I had ordered nacho for 20$, plus 8$ extra for chicken. When it got to the table i started eating and it was cold. Chicken was in sufficient quantity to warrant an extra 8$ (plus was cold too) and the cheese wasn't even melted. I ate 1/3 of it (the outer edge) where it was decently heated but then I couldn't even bring myself to eat the rest. See in the picture. Let's say i will not got back there, 28$+tx for "college-student level" nacho where even the cheese is not melted after a 30-40 minutes wait for the food to get to the table...
