So, after having a few decent sandwiches and a few fresh loafs. I dared to order their Marron Glacé cake as it was published on their holidays special list, unfortunately this was a horrible mistake, for one the marrons on top where 2 dry tastless peaces of coal no exagerations there, I’ve been having marron glacé for over two decades. They’re supposed to be the sweetest caramelised drops of heaven. Moving to the cake, I don’t know what they did there but neither the filling nor the cream tasted anything like any marron glacé cake I’ve ever had and I’ve had plenty over the years mostly in Paris but also across Europe, it was a truely horrible experience, Shame, I was expecting something else!! The only reason I gave it two stars instead of none is that their breads and their Sandwiches are fresh and acceptable which is a commodity extremely lacking in the Ottawa Gatineau Area!! Terrible experience, we used to go for breakfast regularly and get fair breads until we noticed that they advertise their special holidays season variety, so I decided to have a marron glacé for my birthday and that was the most horrible experience ever because whatever they offered was nothing like a marron glacé (I grew up in France and had proper marron glacé across Europe) when I contacted them to complain they had the odacity to insult me and say arrogantly « all our products are tested and approved by a Premiere Moisson Steering Committee » and that I was wrong and that they made it perfectly, honestly it was inedible we threw it in the garbage. Too bad we never went there again since that day! Update June 15 review dropped from 5* to 3* I'm writing this review with a heavy heart because I've been a loyal weekend customer of this boulangerie for a long time, but my last visit truly left a sour taste. From the moment I approached, the entrance felt uninviting and messy, which was a departure from what I'm used to. What really stood out, unfortunately, was the service. The employee seemed incredibly unhappy, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. To make matters worse, I felt rushed and pressured to finish my shopping, which is the last thing you want when you're trying to pick out your favorite pastries and bread. Given this experience, I'm seriously considering taking my business elsewhere. It's a shame, as I've enjoyed many past visits, but today's experience was genuinely disappointing.
