Georgetown... oh quiet Georgetown. How such a small, quiet town can produce such an amazing restaurant, I'll never know. However, I am glad it did! Located right off the coast, Wheelhouse is a lovely seaside restaurant that hosts a variety of fantastic seafood flavours. Unique flavours, as the seafood dishes are usually created with a comfort food style of cooking in mind. Partner and I had ordered two plates for lunch. Downside? They were huge! I mean, that's not a big downside. Just note that they'll keep you full until way past dinner. Baked lobster roll and a crab mac-and-cheese. See? I told you. Seafood x comfort food. Unique and incredibly delicious. Heavy, but seafood "fresh" at the same time. Everything tasted comforting, yet still had the ocean flavours ingrained in them. If you're a fan of seafood, drop on by the wheelhouse. If you're a fan of seafood AND you're craving your mother's mac-and-cheese, drop by the wheelhouse ASAP! Would definitely eat here again the next time we drive through Georgetown! IG: @albert.eatstein

Drove here on our summer trip to PEI, and I am so glad we did. Georgetown isn't a widely known place but we somehow happened n this place during its founder's birthday! I had probably the BEST Mac and Cheese I have every had to this date! Their Crab Mac and Cheese is superb. Perfect blend of cheeses and nicely seasoned breadcrumbs and crab legs on top and crab meat mixed into the cheese (very generously!) served in a cast iron skillet, absolutely DELICIOUS. The chef has truly elevated this simple dish to gourmet levels. My wife had the Lobster Roll which was stuffed full of delicious PEI lobster but it just could not stand up to this delicious Mac and Cheese! I will go back here next time I am in PEI. We were also treated to the founders day firework display on their beautiful patio which is right on the water. Service was friendly and fast.

Absolutely unforgettable ending to an already amazing trip to PEI. What started as a casual dinner turned into a private, curated experience thanks to our hilarious and thoughtful server, who tucked us away in a cozy upstairs space and, after running out of lobster, surprised us with a family-style tasting adventure crafted by their phenomenal chef. Each dish told a story. The paella instantly transported me back to my days living in Sevilla, Spain; rich and full of depth. The steak? Cooked to perfection, melt-in-your-mouth. And the dessert? Honestly next-level. Every bite was amazing. This isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a hidden gem polished by a team of absolute diamonds. Warm, welcoming, and wildly talented. If you find yourself on the Island, do yourself a favour: don’t just eat here. Experience it.

We were here August 22/22 and our experience from the time we entered till we left was terrible. We had reservations for a table for 4 by the railing overlooking the water. We checked in then were asked to wait by the wall? A family of 4 were behind us. They did not have a reservation yet were promptly lead to the outside and given a table for 4 by the railing (which we can only assume was the one we reserved) We were then seated at a table suited for a large group of at least 8 to 10. It was not suitable to eat, talk or enjoy for a party of 4. We told 2 servers our problem and asked to be moved... each time we got a rude "can't help you" comment. We ended up huddled together with our backs to the water (service door was on the other side). We decided to make the best of it and ordered appetizers of 2 orders of mussels and fries to share. Both orders of mussels had more closed ones than opened (unedible) and the classic white wine sauce tasted like cold tap water with raw garlic. We couldn't eat them. The fries were cold so we couldn't eat those. We finished drinks and were never asked if we wanted more. We ordered mains.. 3 halibut dinners and 1 lobster melt. All were disgusting! The halibut was the size of a small dinner roll and way over cooked. The lobster melt was horrid. The melted cheese had harded and congealed! The TINY bit of lobster was rubber and the bun was so dry I couldn't bite into it. ALL over priced for what was served even if it had been edible. Later our server came out and asked how our meal was. Our out of town guest was honest and told her it was terrible. She laughed at him as if he was joking (don't know why with all the untouched or half touched plates on the table??). I spoke up and told her my meal was terrible and I couldn't eat it. She went to kitchen then came back and offered free dessert.... we said no thank you. We had 6:30 reservations, it took over 90 minutes to get that bad meal and we just wanted to leave. Her 2nd offer was ro take the mussels off the bill. Seriously?? We weren't able to eat those anyway. Our guests were treating us to dinner. I was so upset that they paid WAY to much money for terrible, uneaten food and poor service. If this represents a typical meal and service? then we could never recommend this...

Updating my rating from a couple of years ago (from a 5 to a 2). Went this evening (June '22) to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was good but the service? Absolutely laughable. We ordered our drinks (cocktail and a glass of wine) along with an order of mussels to start. Around 20 minutes later our drinks arrived with the mussels. Perhaps bring the drinks out as soon as you can you ensure people drink more and have a good time? At this point we were already annoyed. We then sat there for another 10 minutes again without our waitress offering a refill. In the meantime a couple of younger guys sat down behind us who obviously knew a couple of the waitresses and my god were they ever attended to! Our food came out and that's when we finally had the opportunity to order another drink. Around half way through the meal the second drinks arrive. By this time we're starting to get too full to even really enjoy them. There was also a graduation event occuring so regular guests had to go the deck. We checked the social media page before heading out and didn't realize we'd be forced to sit out in like 50 km winds off of the water.

The food was excellent but we won't ever return due to the staff and atmosphere tonight. We aren't made of money and we chose a spot for our anniversary that we thought would be a safe bet. Restaurants don't thrive on just food alone. We can make delicious food at home and not throw away $150 for nothing. Until the wait staff improves I suggest you...

First time visiting. I will start by saying that the location and scenery is beautiful! We ate on the patio and the view was wonderful. The restaurant is a mix of old and modern and very nice. We had the East Toast 4.0 starter and it was amazing!! That left us really excited about the entree. I had the big wheel burger and my wife had the fried chicken burger. The chicken burger was quite tasty and had some great flavours. The burger was kind of disappointing. It definitely wasn’t bad… but it wasn’t great. It was a tad on the bland side. I asked for no Aioli, but it had lots.

My only real complaint would be the service. We ordered our first drink right away and got it relatively quickly. We drank them with our appetizer. We wanted more drinks but our server didn’t come back until she brought our entrees. We ordered another drink as soon as we got our meals. We didn’t see our drinks until we were basically done eating. That was very frustrating and annoying.

My wife said she probably wouldn’t return, but I’m sure I can talk her into giving another chance. I’d like the opportunity to bump my rating up to a 4 or 5 star. I believe this place absolutely has the ability, but it didn’t happen this visit...
